For years, people have watched the people of Gaza endure a genocide.
Children shot in the head, chest and genitals. Whole families destroyed and complete blood lines eviscerated in one missile strike.
Civilians are killed day after day. And while this continues, people who dare to point out the bloody obvious are accused, smeared and threatened with the full force of the law and are labelled antisemites for noticing it.
There is supposed to be a ceasefire. Yet Palestinians continue to be slaughtered. A ceasefire that fails to protect children is not the peace people were promised.
And now, rather than confront the atrocities, the British establishment taking direction from a foreign lobby and the Jewish board of deputies, would rather introduce more laws to police the language of those who rage against the genocide.
What do they think this will achieve?
Every attempt to muzzle the truth and legitimate criticism makes people ask harder questions.
Who is protected?
Who is demonised?
Whose suffering is treated as acceptable?
And who benefits when the public is told not to look too closely?
Everyone is watching this happen in slow motion caught in the nightmare of a moral quicksand, from which there is no escape.
Meanwhile every single onlooker questions the narratives being fed them by mainstream media.
Everyone is demanding accountability from governments that speak about human rights while appearing unwilling to defend them consistently nor prosecute those that have committed a genocide in 4K.
giving political cover to those that have conducted a genocide has been noticed and noted by the British public. You cannot call those that are fighting it anti-Semites, You cannot weaponise the law against them. This brings about a moral bankruptcy Of our civil society
You cannot demand that people ignore the suffering of Palestinians and expect them to obey forever. You cannot make a moral argument disappear by threatening the people making it with prison Sentences and fines.
The world has changed. There is no return to the days when powerful institutions could control the conversation without challenge.
Bring in more laws if you wish. But understand this: every attempt to suppress legitimate criticism exposes the very double standards you are trying to conceal.
History will not judge us by how effectively we silenced the people who protested. It will judge us by whether we stood up when innocent children were being slaughtered.
We don’t have an anti-Semitism problem in Britain.
We have a compliance with genocide problem.

On what planet is Burnham different to Starmer?
NEW: Andy Burnham has officially rejected Jeremy Corbyn's call for a public inquiry into "British complicity" in Gaza.
The former Labour leader wrote to the PM in July asking him to back his Private Member's Bill for a Chilcot-style inquiry, which would look at any UK military, economic or political cooperation with Israel since October 2023.
This would include the power to question ministers on the supply or use of weapons, surveillance aircraft and Royal Air Force bases.
The idea was rejected by Starmer. The govt have confirmed in response to a written question today that their position remains unchanged under Burnham, saying an inquiry isn't necessary due to the "extensive mechanisms already available for parliamentary accountability and oversight".
Corbyn said:“Andy Burnham rightly said that the last Labour government “got it wrong” over Gaza. But his words will mean very little if he doesn’t break with the last government’s shameful record of complicity, secrecy and evasion.
"Many of us will remember in the aftermath of Iraq, the government of the day spent many years resisting attempts to uncover the truth. In the end, they could not prevent the inevitable. Just like Iraq, we will remember those who obstructed the path to justice."

I’m finally reposting my opinion column for @thenerve_news which includes a critique of the Green Party ZiR motion & the peril it presents for Zack Polanski’s leadership. When published elsewhere reasonable debate with readers was overwhelmed by bad faith actors & vitriolic personal attacks on me. The thing is, I believe integrity in opinion writing matters; it should be predicated upon honestly held beliefs based on a reading of the facts. For example, it’s why I believe Israel has perpetrated Genocide in Gaza - an opinion many disagree with. If you know my work, you already understand that I don’t play to a crowd for follows, likes or money. In the past, I’ve paid a heavy price for standing by this principle. I don’t regret it. So, please use your freedom of expression to politely disagree (or agree) with me; but respect my right to have an opinion that differs from yours. And if my view “disappoints” you - no need - because “If liberty means anything at all, it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.”
Green Party leader Zack Polanski did not handle the pointless and damaging conference motion about Zionism well. But why on earth would his own supporters create such a trap for him?

“But the question about whether the best route to enabling this broader understanding is a discourse about the ideology of Zionism, and how it developed, is a strategic one. Are we more likely to persuade a public body to fully divest from all complicit companies if we insist that in doing so, they must also declare themselves to be anti-Zionist?”

So far I have been debanked by @LloydsBank, suspended by @Revolut (awaiting appeal outcome) and banned from @PayPal.
This is the price of opposing 'israel' in occupied Britain.
Replying to @LloydsBank
@LloydsBank refused to give me a reason for closing my accounts. The advisor could only submit a 'complaint' to request one.
It can take 8 weeks.
Meanwhile, I cannot pay my bills or access my money. I must wait for a cheque and find another bank.
This is political persecution.

When celebrity protest was costly and not done for naughty vibes and extra followers.
34 years ago this month, an Irish woman committed an act of defiance on American television that would make her one of the most hated celebrities in the world.
She tried to get people to pay attention to children being abused by the very institution that claimed to be their moral guardian.
On 3 October 1992, Sinéad O'Connor appeared on Saturday Night Live, one of America's most popular television programmes.
She was 25 years old.
Two years earlier, Nothing Compares 2 U had made her a global superstar. She had an extraordinary voice, enormous commercial potential and a future that could have made her fabulously wealthy.
Every incentive in the entertainment industry told her to keep smiling, singing, looking pretty and making money.
Instead, she chose to make people profoundly uncomfortable.
She performed Bob Marley's War, completely alone, without instrumental accompaniment, changing the lyrics to explicitly condemn child abuse.
At the end, she held up a photograph of Pope John Paul II.
And tore it to pieces.
"FIGHT THE REAL ENEMY!"
Silence.
The audience didn't know what to do.
Neither did the producers, who had no idea she was planning this.
Within days, the machinery of outrage was operating at full capacity.
Sinéad had insulted Catholics!
She had insulted the Pope!
She had insulted religion!
How DARE this young woman with a shaved head disrespect something so sacred?
Funny how much more offended people could get about a torn photograph than about children being raped and abused by people entrusted with their care.
Actor Joe Pesci subsequently appeared on the same programme and declared that, had he been there, he would have given her a smack.
The audience laughed and applauded.
A grown man threatening to hit a woman for protesting child abuse.
Apparently THAT was entertainment.
Madonna criticised her.
People destroyed her records.
Her career suffered enormously.
Two weeks later, she appeared at Madison Square Garden for a concert honouring Bob Dylan.
Thousands of people had come to celebrate a musician whose reputation rested partly on decades of songs about injustice, rebellion and refusing to submit to authority.
And when Sinéad appeared, a substantial part of the audience BOOED her.
For having actually rebelled.
Kris Kristofferson approached her and told her not to let the bastards get her down.
"I'm not down," she replied.
And instead of singing the Bob Dylan song she had prepared, she launched into War AGAIN.
What happened in the following decades?
Investigations revealed extensive sexual abuse of children by Catholic clergy and institutional efforts to conceal it.
Sinéad wasn't attacking the ordinary believer who found comfort in religion.
She was confronting the immense power of an institution whose moral authority had protected perpetrators and helped silence victims.
