Anthony Albanese is preparing for a major cabinet reshuffle next year, with a group of rising Labor figures in line for promotion as the Prime Minister looks to refresh his frontbench amid mounting pressure over the economy.
News24.com.au understands a reshuffle is being considered for around the middle of 2027, when expected retirements could open up positions in cabinet and create opportunities for a new generation of ministers.
Frontbenchers Andrew Charlton, Jenny McAllister, Daniel Mulino and Kristy McBain are among those being considered for advancement.
The Prime Minister is also expected to promote one or two Queensland MPs after the state gained greater parliamentary representation at the last election.
The potential shake-up comes as Labor faces growing frustration within its ranks over inflation, interest rate increases and the political fallout from its May budget.

Dealing with Centrelink as an Australian citizen is incredibly broken. I spent two hours being passed around and ignored, only for the line to drop completely. The worst part is the absolute hypocrisy of the system-being constantly tone-policed to "remain calm and polite" while my time is treated as worthless. I am expected to stay pleasant while a vital government agency treats me like a nuisance. This is no longer a public service; it is a hostile system designed to wear people down until they give up and go away.

Oh yes they're the great pretenders...
Macron, Johnson, Albanese, Morrison, Biden, Starmer, Clinton, Turnbull, Cameron, Rudd, Gillard, Trudeau, Merkel, Ardern, Burnham, Bush, Obama, May, Sunak and the list goes on and on
There is nothing worse for democracy than a pretender, and the West has been riddled with them for decades now.
They pretend to be patriots, they pretend to be standing up for their party and itβs values, they pretend to represent their constituents.
But the sad reality is that on both sides of politics accross the Western world we have had a bunch of liars in power.
They get away with it - because their opposition are made up of the same exact thing.
You'd have to be pretty simple to believe that diversity - a bunch of different things forced together - could ever be a strength. Division, and diversity come from the same latin root, the politicians and the people behind them know this.
It is impossible to have social cohesion when diversity is the stated purpose and goal.
The real question is why? Why do they lie? Why do they pretend to stand up for the founding principles of their parties and nations but just donβt, and never will?
Because if they told the truth, they would never win an election.
Watching Macron attempt to mop up the mess he has made of his country is laughable.
Now he is tough on crime. But those crimes are by design. I think it is always the few bad actors among the good that cause the trouble. But the problem is, now, everyone wears the consequences.
A more heavy handed state, less free speech, and lower living standards.
We are being pushed to third world conditions and that is not an accident. It is totally by design.
Because they are not that stupid (well some of them are), and the people behind them in the establishment are doing all of this on purpose.
The West and its middle-class is all that stands between the global criminal network, and total world domination, and so they send us liars, cheats and fools, and tell us it is our own fault because we chose them. Hope we donβt see through the lies. The absolute web of falsehood. It permeates out from the centre like a spider and its eight legs.
But now that the mask has slipped in Paris it is just a matter of time before we all wake up and put the politics of diversity in the bin of history.
A nasty plan, with a sting in the tail, sold as care.
It is cruel to everyone but the establishment, there are no other winners.
We need people of substance to stand up now, because it is almost too late.
I just want Australia back.

Weβve simply partied enough to qualify for a government pension.
You see, Australian Gen X didnβt grow up with smartphones, helicopter parents, location tracking or someone asking whether weβd had enough water.
We grew up in an era where your parents told you to piss off outside, be home when the streetlights came on and donβt bring the police home.
That was the entire parenting manual.

By 10 pm there were 80 people in the backyard, someone had dragged out a stereo, somebody else was spewing behind the Hills Hoist and a bloke called Mick was trying to jump over the swimming pool.
