→ bro pulls up on X bragging about being one of the engineers behind Siri → X lets him know that’s not the flex he thinks it is → now he’s coping fucking hard saying it’s the users who don’t know how to use it
Siri works, it's not a product problem, it's a user problem. I worked on it (many years ago) for years and I learned how to ask for things so that it actually works. Post what doesn't work for you and I will comment with how you can phrase it to make it work. If I can't make it work, you can get this Apple commemoration pin (shipping worldwide). To get the pin you need to Repost this for visibility. Number of pins are limited.

change of plans: we are going to release o3 and o4-mini after all, probably in a couple of weeks, and then do GPT-5 in a few months. there are a bunch of reasons for this, but the most exciting one is that we are going to be able to make GPT-5 much better than we originally though. we also found it harder than we thought it was going to be to smoothly integrate everything. and we want to make sure we have enough capacity to support what we expect to be unprecedented demand.

serious companies actually using Discord as a forum is so insanely pathetic not only is it: - ugly and bloated - is heavily connoted with modern degenerate gaming culture - has 0 real discoverability for previously discussed bugs, questions etc

I'm going to sound like a boomer but it seems like younger engineers are less likely to read documentation FULLY. I thought maybe this was just a bit of bad luck, but I have friends in FAANGs and they tell me the same. Curious.

"ship fast, break things" is all fun and games until you’re the one who has to fix the stuff that broke

deleted ~400 lines of code, replaced it with ~50, and now the app runs faster. sometimes the best feature is fewer features
