March and March leader Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma and her husband, Xolani Zuma, have received millions through government contracts since 2021 – this amid the organisation’s attacks on the state about immigration laws and regulations, write @khayakoko88, @azarrahk, @CowansView, @SikonathiM and @SimonSonnekus. Most of the business is with the KwaZulu-Natal government, with contracts awarded to their company, XJ Family Enterprise, and to Xolani Zuma’s law firm. They are both directors of XJ Family Enterprise.

The @SANDF_ZA has admitted that Special Force operators were involved in the kidnapping of Abdella Abadiga, an alleged ISIS financier, and his driver, writes @GibsonErika. The SANDF had previously submitted sworn statements from the six operators, claiming they had merely conducted a “training exercise” at the mall on the same day as the kidnapping. news24.com/southafrica/news/…

AmaBhungane is deeply concerned by reports that our former colleague, South African journalist Micah Reddy, and his local fixer, Kooki Mahmoud, are missing in Djibouti.
Micah is a former amaBhungane journalist and a valued member of the investigative journalism community in South Africa and across the continent.
We join the Committee to Protect Journalists in calling on the Djiboutian authorities to urgently clarify Micah and Kooki’s whereabouts and ensure their safety.
We call for their immediate safe return.

For the nerds. Here's the JHB math, simplistically. The ANC has 85/135 wards today. Let's say they get 80/135.
80/270 seats=29.6%
They need to get 30% of the overall vote for a PR seat. They got 32% in JHB '24 and will certainly go down. I have them at 25-29%. I.e. no PR seats
