I just released a new tool that works with local LLMs (and @openrouter and OpenAI etc) that mirrors how git-commit works, but superpowers it by pulling file context and staging as well as the rules for proper git commit messages and writes it for you. If you like working in the terminal you may find this greatly improves your git commits, and can even catch some bugs! I'm using it with qwen3-coder now and its really accurate, and you can edit the message to give additional context. Try it out:
