Building with 💚 for kaspa

Joined December 2019
We developed the Kaspire app because there was no Kaspa wallet available that lets you connect to mobile dApps, even though this is where the majority of users are. We extended the development on a browser extension when the main extension wallet kept on connecting for many weeks. And now? Kaspire will be available as a desktop wallet very soon as well, starting with Windows, as other desktop wallets are also very limited. The Kaspa wallet that makes no compromises. The most advanced Kaspa wallet to date. With a high focus on security and fully open source. Kaspire⚡ Coming to your desktop soon...

Out of all the shit devices out there Tangem is the shittiest Honestly worse than Ledger And that’s saying smth Blind signing and fully closed ecosystem are so fucking fiat
Hey, Chris! A screen doesn’t solve blind signing. Huge sums have been lost to transactions people approved on screens they couldn’t actually read. Please read it: tangem.com/en/blog/post/blin… Why the "no screen is bad" narrative fails By shifting key processes to the secure mobile app, Tangem’s hardware wallet doesn't need a display. The secure app handles all critical interactions and is protected by the robust security layers outlined above. This simplifies the user experience while keeping their digital assets safe. The app side is hardened separately: integrity checks against modified versions, root and jailbreak detection, tapjacking protection, certificate pinning, DexProtector, and open code on GitHub. Details here: tangem.com/en/blog/post/mobi… We compared the two approaches and chose the one we believe is safer and simpler for people to use. Ledger Cryptobilis incident shows it was the right choice: with Tangem, a story like this simply couldn’t have happened.

The last thing we need is competitors dunking on @ledger to score cheap marketing points. If retirement attacks are possible, this threatens all of self-custody. Today it's your competitor. Tomorrow it could be you.

Kaspa’s latest technical progress is increasingly about making programmable proof-of-work infrastructure cheaper to operate, easier to build on, and harder to disrupt. On October 14, Rusty Kaspa merged a new “lowio” RocksDB preset for pruned nodes. It combines larger write buffers, ZSTD compression, BlobDB storage for larger values, and partitioned indexes. The tradeoff is additional RAM for reduced disk activity. The contributor reports roughly 50% fewer bytes written and approximately 10% faster initial synchronization under the tested configuration. These are hardware-dependent measurements, and the change is merged into master rather than included in the latest stable release. That stable release, v2.1.0, introduces P2P protocol 11. Large synchronization payloads are streamed in 20 MiB chunks, reducing message-framing bottlenecks while retaining compatibility with protocol 10. Tighter message limits and bounded parent counts also constrain malicious peer inputs. For application developers, the standalone kaspa-txscript-zk-sdk packages RISC Zero Groth16 and STARK proof-script generation, including static and dynamic image identifiers. This makes proof-verification tooling more reusable. Post-Toccata cleanup also removes transitional activation branches and standardizes script-unit accounting across relevant validation paths. Meanwhile, an October mempool proposal illustrates the engineering scrutiny behind these changes. Transactions accepted during synchronization can remain in a node’s pending pool and distort fee estimates. Reviewers challenged full-pool revalidation because repeatedly triggering it could create excessive work; discussion shifted toward reporting synchronized blocks directly to mempool processing. That fix remains under review. My reading: Kaspa’s current development is strengthening the operational foundations that programmable applications will depend on.

Kaspa's KCC-20 standard represents something much more significant than another method of issuing tokens. It introduces a common framework for fungible assets governed by native covenants, transforming tokens from externally interpreted records into programmable, verifiable UTXO states. Unlike KRC-20, KCC-20 defines a standardized structure containing token balances, ownership authorization, borrowing permissions, and extension commitments. Combined with KIP-20 covenant IDs, these assets maintain identifiable lineage as their states evolve. KCC-1 and KCC-2 provide the underlying interfaces and authority schemes, allowing independently developed wallets, contracts, and infrastructure to understand the same assets. One particularly interesting innovation is Borrowed Receive. Rather than requiring a recipient to create another token UTXO, a sender can conditionally increase an existing recipient's balance without obtaining their signature. The transaction must preserve ownership, protect the underlying KAS deposit, and satisfy the recipient's configured borrowing policy. This introduces interesting efficiencies, although changing UTXO references creates synchronization challenges that wallets must handle. The GitHub implementation is equally interesting. The Argent-based reference repository now includes fungible-token contracts, permissionless minting, allowance splitting, zero-balance receiving UTXOs, and Rust-based conformance tests. These are meaningful implementation milestones, although testing remains offline and does not constitute a production security audit. The broader implication is interoperability. Stablecoins, tokenized assets, decentralized exchanges, and autonomous financial applications could eventually interact through shared covenant interfaces rather than incompatible token implementations. KCC-20 remains in the Last Call stage, not a finalized standard. But its architectural direction is important: Kaspa is establishing the foundations for programmable assets whose validity is enforced by consensus, not merely interpreted by external infrastructure.

Kron tokens in your pocket. With the latest Kaspire app update you can now swap tokens from @KronTechnology directly inside your wallet app, without the need to visit the website of Kron. And with KCC20 on last call, more DEXes are arriving very soon: KaspaCom, Zealous Swap, KaspaRocket, K-Forge, and any other DEX which comes around! To start trading Kron tokens update your Android app to version 0.11.51. DEX swaps will also arrive on the Browser Extension soon.

Getting closer to this important milestone The reference app has a simple public minting policy, with a minter frontier of UTXOs (/actors) that can expand and contract with demand. There’s also a token seed frontier that can expand and contract, and only creates zero-balance token UTXOs. Expanding the frontier requires opting in and locking a small amount of KAS, which can later be reclaimed. This lets anyone enter the token covenant without already holding any token value. E.g., you create a zero-balance token UTXO from the seed using your own KAS, and others can later borrow-send you token amounts without having to contribute any KAS themselves. We envision this reference repo as the first step towards a general standardized Kaspa Token Lib (KTL), or more broadly, also non token contracts and libs. Let’s go
KCC-20 has advanced to Last Call: github.com/kaspanet/kccs/blo… A companion reference implementation by @manyfest_, written in Argent together with its pinned generated Silverscript, underwent an extensive manual review and AI-assisted audit by Michael Sutton, covering KCC-20 conformance, implementation correctness, and edge cases. It is now open for final public battle testing. We encourage developers and security-minded reviewers to try to break it, probe edge cases, and report any implementation bugs or discrepancies with the spec. Kaspire is really cooking 🔥🔥
Your mobile experience with Kaspa dApps is getting smoother! Previously, you opened a dApp like dotk name service or Kasvio Network from your personal browser and connected through your Kaspire wallet app by going back and forth via WalletConnect v2, the main standard for crypto wallets only Kaspire utilizes in the Kaspa space. Now, Kaspire includes its own browser inside the app. Reviewed $KAS dApps can now connect to Kaspire directly inside your wallet app. No external browser needed anymore. Built a dApp which already connects to the Kaspire app? Let us know and after review we will publish it into our app browser.

I think @kaspirewallet is now the best app the $kas ecosystem has to offer.

everything you mentioned is possible. burn and mint are easy; freeze can be implemented in various ways, with different tradeoffs. dexs and lending platforms are possible as well, though good designs require real effort and expertise. the main ingredient enabling the more compositional apps like dexs and lending is single-transaction atomicity, which allows onchain composability. these are exactly the kinds of design patterns Argent is trying to establish, and that the various KCCs are being designed with in mind
