We write about/from Guwahati focussing on more-than-human entanglements to briefly outline how animals reveal otherwise hidden urban places, processes & state logics that not only affect animal-human lives but decidedly shape the city's own urban trajectory @ScotGeogJournal 1/n
Replying to @kashqueeri
@kashqueeri @SnehaGutgutia @Shubhangi1057 & I use an entanglements framework to think/write about animals' geographies from an overlooked city #Guwahati - a 'South within the South' in @ScotGeogJournal.

As we begin classes, I urge professors to think about the mental health of our students, our fellow practitioners, especially in the neoliberal culture of academia. Luckily @ArchaeologyFitz and I wrote a book chapter about it in Inclusive Ethnography: uk.sagepub.com/en-gb/eur/inc…

I’m facing a huge challenge of half-backed PHD proposals from Indian applicants. Precisely, for the reasons that students are not trained for research degrees. Unless masters & 4 year BA have research component, there is a danger of students not meeting required research skills.

Michelle Bezanson has left the building. We all owe Michelle so much. She was an amazing colleague, a wonderful teacher and mentor, and the most generous and caring friend anyone could have. Read her work, marvel at her art, listen to what she had to say, and try to be like her.

Great work by @Imranalibuth, who has been single-handedly preserving fragile, historical manuscripts. Do join those who are around Lal Chowk. He will also be giving a live demo, which can give you basic idea in preserving your personal collections:)
