After five years, Lattice is winding down. Redstone shuts down May 15, 2026 (23:59 UTC). If you have funds on Redstone, withdraw before then — especially anything held in contracts like Uniswap pools. After shutdown we'll deploy an L1 withdrawal contract for EOA balances, but funds in contracts won't be recoverable that way. Bridges in reply. We started Lattice in 2021 to build Autonomous Worlds: virtual worlds with unchangeable onchain physics and deep player programmability on top. To make that possible, we built MUD, Redstone, Quarry, and Dozer. We never managed to turn it into a sustainable business. By early 2025 runway was getting shorter. Rather than wind down quietly, we spent the remainder on one final push: DUST (@dust_org), the autonomous world we'd always envisioned. Players built marketplaces, cities, transportation systems, even a newspaper. It validated our thesis about emergence, but it didn't reach the scale to sustain a business, and we didn't have conviction that raising VC was the right path. What happens next: - DUST has migrated to the DUST Chain (hosted by @conduitxyz, supported by the @Optimism Foundation). Same speed, same cost. Team members continue working on DUST and autonomous worlds through 0xPARC. - MUD is feature complete, OpenZeppelin-audited, fully open source. The migration tool that moves entire worlds between chains is available to any MUD project. - Quarry (Wiresaw, 7ms confirmations) and Dozer (high-performance MUD indexer) are now open source. - Redstone shuts down May 15. Withdraw your funds. Thank you to 0xPARC, the Ethereum Foundation, the Optimism Foundation, CCP Games, the Dark Forest team, and the early backers who believed in us. To everyone who built on MUD, used Redstone, or played zkDungeon, OPCraft, Sky Strife, or DUST. And to the team. Full credits in the post linked below. If you were part of this in any way, thank you. Recently I've been helping a local maths teacher build a custom educational platform for his students. Before AI this just wouldn't have been viable to take on. And while I certainly feel less of a craftsman now, it's also so cool to suddenly be able to do stuff like this.

Can confirm, paying the 7.3% interest rate student loans on this site has always been a breeze
I just signed up for the UK gov "one login" and it's an absolute masterclass in UX. No sarcasm. It gracefully handles handoff to a mobile app for facial verification, identity document capture (with multiple options) and handles all sorts of edge cases. Every time I felt "I bet if I click this the form will reset and I lose my data" it all just worked. Super clear language and UX, at no point was I frustrated or lost. The UK might be in decline as of late, but we still have greatness within us somewhere!

My time at @latticexyz has come to an end. It ended a little while ago, but I felt like now is a good time to share about it before moving on to new pastures. To put it short, it was some of the most exciting time of my professional career. I have never encountered so much talent, drive and creativity all in one place. And I have learnt so much from everyone on the team. Not just how to execute better and faster but also how to have the conviction to truly go after ideas that might seem crazy. It takes balls to do it. I feel very fortunate to have been able to be a small part of that, and to contribute to @mud_dev, work on @Dust_Org, build @permutationgov and put my hands on other cool stuff that pushed my limits in various ways. It was quite a journey. So long, and thanks for all the fish! 🐟

Consider sponsoring @tailwindcss as an individual (see if your company will cover this as a L&D benefit, too). Tailwind helps me build more beautiful software, faster than was ever possible before—styling at the speed of thought. → tailwindcss.com/sponsor#insi… Perks: - private discord - core team's recommended rules for LLMs - pre-release docs - vscode theme - raycast extension - source code + figma files - a warm feeling in your bones that you are supporting one of the best built + maintained libraries that exists on the internet

Received a counter offer for my own name domain, it's only $760,000. How should I proceed from here? 😵

Browsing my own GitHub repos from the past feels even worse than going through killedbygoogle.com/ 💀 so much hope and unrealized potential. One lesson is clear, it's so much better to focus on 1 project and give it full love than scatter energy everywhere

Reached the peak of personal knowledge systems, and came back to Apple Notes. Only wish it had markdown support but otherwise it's perfect. Another reminder to stop overcomplicating everything.

The underlying complexity of DUST and its decentralized properties are so effectively abstracted away, thanks to MUD and its auxiliary tech, that even people without a coding background are extending it permissionlessly, something truly unique
I may be biased but it honestly keeps blowing my mind how pleasurable it is to build on top of MUD and DUST. This week I built a submission and voting app for the DUST HACK #1: Defined a table schema. Wrote a simple contract to manage submissions and votes. Deployed into the DUST world with a single CLI command. Immediately usable via the world explorer, which picked up the new functions and tables. Asked claude to built a frontend for it, one shot success - not too surprising, it’s really simple, just read the onchain MUD table state and call onchain functions. Registered the app with a single CLI command to make it available in everyone’s DUST client. Finally wrote a simple chest contract that allows anyone to deposit items but only allows the hackathon winner to withdraw the items, by reading from the same tables used above, and deployed it again with a single CLI command.

Cozy celebration for @ethereum's 10th birthday. And the monument, built through collective efforts, is coming together nicely. Long live Ethereum!
