Aspen + Telluride being big spenders for Dems this cycle is something maybe to watch since this is CO-3 ➡️ district hasn’t elected a Dem in decades despite putting up candidates from these areas ➡️ shares a district with Pueblo, which has been especially swing-y since 2016.
One time I had to explain the word “skiff” to the entire Sentinel newsroom, and then @EditorDavePerry promptly asked me if I also said “crick” instead of creek.
This isn't just a skiff of snow on the 14ers. 6-12" likely on several key passes tomorrow/Thursday AM.
Worst conditions will be after sunset tomorrow through around sunrise Thursday morning.

The kinds of boring I was dealing with in local news:

This phenomenon spelled the end of Colorado Republican Mike Coffman’s unbroken decades-long streak of wins in 2018, when #CO06 results swung 19 points from Coffman’s 8-point win in ’16 to an 11-point loss in ’18 to Dem Jason Crow. #copolitics
In my latest story for Front Porch in NE Denver there are Armand Marseille doll heads galore, a few friendly neighborhood squirrels (one named LaDonna), and a lot to marvel at. 👀

Denver’s @9News has lately been routinely posting alarming stories like this without mentioning it’s someone else’s local news — in this case, it’s Vienna, Georgia, 1,500 miles from Denver. Clickbait like this is a great way to squander your social media credibility.

Long. Live. Student. Journalism.
I visited @cornellsun students at their office last night — and talked with them about the campus rape case they've been investigating for 23 months, and the decision to publish the names of the seven men involved in the lawsuit on their front page. nytimes.com/2026/09/29/nyreg…

NEW: GOP Rep Jeff Hurd has declined a CO-3 debate invitation from the Pueblo Chamber of Commerce, CSU-Pueblo, Grand Junction Sentinel, KRDO-TV, Rocky Mountain PBS, and 9NEWS.
Hurd's only scheduled debate with Democrat Dwayne Romero is a 30-minute exchange at Club 20 this weekend
Sat next to a man from Dallas at Red Rocks tonight who made a comment about how many people were wearing jorts. Are other places not doing jorts??
Lamar, the rural SE Colo town with a population of about 7,500, voted yesterday to implement a two-year moratorium on data centers. Prowers County had already enacted a six month ban. That essentially pushes data centers out of the area for the foreseeable future.
Water and economic development are both extremely important issues here. So, this is an important decision. The 'Finish the Arkansas Valley Conduit Act,' which Trump vetoed last year, would've provided much needed jobs + no interest federal loans to finish the project.
