Looking to arrange a Rust and Tauri meetup in SF! 🦀
Would anyone want to speak/can recommend someone? Let me know! :)

- what I learned migrating our codebase onto @poteto framework and pstack
0. It’s easier than you think!
1. It’s not that hard nor complicated. The biggest thing is to introduce verifiability, i.e. that you can trust that the agents can complete a task end to end. The models of today definitively can, while models 6m ago definitively could not.
2. unit tests are not enough! and it’s great that agents love to write unit tests, but thats only a small part of the puzzle. full verifibility entails either dedicated debugging tools, a cli, or a vm for e2e testability. Since we develop a desktop app i’m partial to VMs.
3. comments are the devil! and comment-sicko is hungry. in actuality, comments can lead to an anti-pattern where agents take previous agents findings/rationalizations for why they did X as truth. not good. we can trust models to actually understand the code infront of them and assume what the function does. And store ephemeral knowledge in skills
4. It’s all skills! and frameworks! custom CLIs are good also but not an requirement
5. this makes it easier for all participators in the codebase to write high quality code, because the skills themselves are sort of self regulating.
here's how i shipped 2,500 PRs last month to production
this was originally supposed to be for Cursor Compile in London. i couldn't make it since i was livestreaming for Grok @Bot Galaxy so i'm making it available for free here on X! watch it on 2x speed, i talk slowly
I am telling you guys- this is the way!
ex. github.com/openai/tart, openai agrees
I won't stop posting about this:
VMs are so goated in the age of agentic programming!
If you develop any type of desktop application, the easiest way to ensure consistent performance and peace of mind is creating e2e tests running on a VM. Such a cheap way to iterate, make sure the product doesn't break and also to improve performance!
The best thing is that you can constrain your VM to ensure the application works on all devices!
I remember when my brother took me to the library for the first time.
I remember when I first used Google Images for the first time. It felt like magic. I thought the computer was generating pictures of Darth Maul.
Finally - with AI, this is true once again. I have the best personal tutor I could ever ask for. This is the best thing about being alive in this time and place.

Read about Mehdi's story in the article in thread.
@mehdiamara__ is one of the most commercial founders I know. I think commerciality is one of those traits you either have or you don’t. In French, we say “avoir le sens du commerce.” It doesn’t even translate cleanly into English, because the thing it’s naming isn’t a skill; it’s an instinct.
I've asked Mehdi to tell me about his life story and what shaped him until today. It's not surprising to me that growing up in Casablanca, in a family of retailers and manufacturers, one just has selling in his blood.
I've watched him go from genuinely 0 (no co-founder, no idea) to building Seeft in under 4 months together with his cofounder. I helped them meet through our founder residency @jointhebridge.
