Thanks to everyone for attending my Minimum Viable Kubernetes talk at SCaLE! Slides are up at coderanger.net/talks/mini-k8… and I'll post the video there once available. I think K8s is a great choice for small teams and I'm always happy to answer questions. #kcdla #scale #scale20x

Did you know that there is no definitive rule set for the Royal Game of Ur? At RoyalUr.net we chose Bell's path with the simple rules due to its popularity. However, we have plans to add all pictured paths, and eventually even the complex rules proposed by Finkel!

Going to shoot my shot and guess that Twitter isn't going to actually die, but will be taken down "for maintenance" for a week or two and come back as an explicitly right-leaning platform.

Like his whole "Twitter should be a bank" nonsense, who would even consider doing that? Well there is a whole segment of the market already primed to think that real actual banks are evil and putting your money in TwitBank will own the libs.

This is all a reach, the far more likely answer is there is no plan, his ego is the size of a small moon, and everyone involved is just this incompetent. But I guess it's still good to game out how this could end up as a Problem™ rather than just a hilarious broken website.

Aaaaand that’s it for me, deleting the app off my phone now. This didn’t happen, but something like it definitely will within the next 3 weeks.

With Twitter's change in ownership last week, I'm probably in the clear to talk about the most unethical thing I was asked to build while working at Twitter. 🧵

I'll probably set up a fediverse alias eventually just for fun but I would like to say again why I think Mastodon is doomed and spending our collective time migrating to it is a waste.

But again citing email, those vendors have slowly waned against the backdrop of vertically integrated hosted services. Or maybe those two things aren't related. I don't have a lot of case studies here, just a gut feeling and a lot of unanswered questions.

If you love your Masto server, I am really happy for you. But maybe hope it stays small and relatively unnoticed in the dark waters of the social internet.
