Our 2023 #studentleaders had their formation day today. We interrogated school culture data, completed team building activities and started on our Action Plan for 2023. Very excited to walk alongside these Assumption students in 2023! 🙌
Well done @jdtdobson on a great reflection on the Teaching Excellence Program for 2022. #GoEnglish 🙌
This @AcademyVIC #TEP22 English crew are awesome! So happy to have created so many relationships through this awesome program!
Very proud of this collaborative project exploring how to elevate the use of student evidence in writing. 🙌

Excited to hear about ‘Engaging Passive Learners’ in this afternoons #TEP22 Graduation Conference. Especially post-COVID the division between active and passive learners has become so evident.
How do we encourage students to be courageous and give answers or suggestions to teacher questions, even if they might not be confident that their answer is correct? How do we give these students a voice and the confidence to join in the conversation?
@georgiabee93 Would love to have a discussion around engaging passive learners in the L&T space at ACK.
Nothing beats the feeling of the timetable rolling over and all students inputted correctly for our Headstart program that starts on Monday! It took awhile this afternoon but we got there. Bring on Monday and welcoming our students to 2023 @ACKilmore
We had our final @AcademyVIC #TEP learning community this afternoon. The best part of this program has been the connections I’ve developed and how invested we are in one another’s journey and growth 🥰
I’ve been leading Learning Walks for teaching staff @ACKilmore. Today we visited 5 classes that were all using worked examples. It was brilliant to see this across various domains - Food Technology, Health, English and Dance! Such a great tool for students to see ‘where to next’.
The best part of this gift from a couple of year 12 English students is the box lid - all their favourite quotes from the texts we have studied this year 🤓📚
As I sit here marking essay after essay in prep for the 2022 #VCEEnglish exam, the light at the end of the tunnel is that after 5 years, Rear Window is off the text list so I look forward to reading more original and interesting ideas with a new text in 2023! @georgiabee93
Very excited about our 2023 Student Leadership Team and working with these students to further enrich our Marist community 💙 #wemarists #acklearn #studentleadership

Fully in timetable mode @ACKilmore today - plenty of sweets, water and spreadsheets!
At #TEP22 #English Masterclass today we visually presented a special place to us. The workshop was about merging English and the art of teaching writing with the more traditional view of art

@AcademyVIC
What a day! 🤯
Very privileged to work in such a welcoming and supportive school as we do what we can to help our Kilmore community.
Brilliant work today @katiefoges @petejaugustin @VaughanCleary 🙌
I’m very energised for our #TEP #inquiry on elevating students use of evidence in responses. We have found that students struggle to know what evidence is and to discern the best evidence to reiterate their point and to demonstrate depth of knowledge. #BringItOn @AcademyVIC
“Our students are our being.”

🧵1. Our #TEP22 @AcademyVIC Masterclass for English today has encouraged us to question, How is it that together we can best collaborate to create learner communities full of highly engaged learners?
🧵 4. The five elements of #reading capabilities framework - connection making (weaving), visualising (seeing), embodied involvement (feeling), dialogic interaction (voicing) and metacognition (thinking).
A great tool to use when creating lessons to cultivate readers.
🧵 5. We can use this framework for: designing learning activities, creating shared language, enable formative assessment, teach and illuminate reading strategies, track and monitor reading progress
