This gives HR too much credit.
They'd have to actually do something to do this.
They just gossip and watch TikTok all day until corporate says they need diversity hires, then they find the first applicant with a foreign sounding name.
When boomers say "just walk up to the boss and give him a firm handshake", they fail to mention that the boss more often than not was a family friend they knew since childhood.
i find that mandatory network thing so pointless. imho the job should be based on their performance and skills on doing it, not their clique or social skills. but that is a very narrow view of it, don't know the entire context behind corporate world.
US Gov't: oh, you already have the perfect internal candidate lined up for this job?
Great, but put out job ads and waste a lot of people's time anyways.
The reels on corporate life is scary to watch .. hats off to present generation kids who are withstanding such harassment and surviving.. ironically no school /college/university is teaching skills to face such unknown circumstances…. 😰
I'm pretty sure they just cut the top 50% of the stack, say these people are unlucky, throw away the rest of the stack for submitting after the other guys, then give the job to a friend..
