We just introduced the Building Canada Strong Act. This will make the most comprehensive, ambitious reforms in a generation to get things built in Canada, faster.
Because high standards do not require slow decisions. Speed, certainty, and predictability are competitive advantages.
That is how we will build Canada strong.
What Liberals think is the “Blame Canada Brigade” is actually the “Blame Liberal Brigade” - The Liberals would know this if they ever listened to Canadians.
Liberal MP Steven MacKinnon becomes unhinged and yells that Conservatives are throwing a hissy fit.
This deranged tirade comes after CPC Michael Guglielmin asked the Prime Minister how much counter tariffs will cost Canadians.
Why do Liberals feel the need to rage, instead of answering what should be a basic question on government policy?
The Official opposition has a right to ask basic questions, without being screamed at. Canadian politics is mentally ill.

Is the federal government’s new “Productivity Mega Deduction” really mega?
Or is “mega” mostly marketing?
In my latest @financialpost column, I take a closer look at the government’s new $36-billion immediate-expensing measure.
There is real tax policy underneath the branding - and profitable, capital-intensive businesses such as manufacturers, farmers, energy and resource companies, and transportation businesses can genuinely benefit.
But services businesses - which represent roughly 77% of Canadian businesses and 75% of GDP - receive a materially smaller benefit.
And that raises a much bigger tax-policy question:
If Ottawa is prepared to spend $36 billion over five years, why not simply reduce the corporate tax rate instead?
As Jack Mintz has calculated, that same amount is roughly equivalent to a 0.9-percentage-point reduction in the federal corporate tax rate.
That would be broad-based.
This isn’t.
There’s also some inconvenient evidence from the Parliamentary Budget Officer about the economic return from these kinds of tax incentives.
So yes, the Productivity Mega Deduction is real tax policy. It will benefit businesses that can use it.
But defensible and “mega” aren’t the same word.
As I write in the column, putting “Mega” on a roll of paper towels doesn’t necessarily make the product inside mega either.

When you know, you know.
- You: "My stocks went up 10%."
- Government: "Congratulations! That's taxable."
- You: "But inflation was 8%. I only really gained 2%."
- Government: "We tax the full 10%."
- You: "You tax the inflation you created?"
- Government: "Capital gains are capital gains."
- You: "So you profit from debasing my money twice?"
- Government: "You're not an economist."
Those unintended consequences of not having secured a deal are continuing to pile up. Last week, we lost our bid to put Canada’s s CDS at the head of Nato.
Refining our own petroleum and maintaining strategic stores could allow Canada to mitigate global fluctuations.
But we had a Liberal government for the past 11 years bent on destroying our oil and gas industry.
They are saying it on television now. Almost daily, talk about being a minute late eh?
Diesel is not a hobby fill.
It is the truck that stocks the store.

Farmers and truckers already feel it.
CBC’s own economists just wrote that the next inflation print gets uglier because of fuel.
This is months late from the networks.
