Ethernews, a front page news website for the Ethereum ecosystem.
It automatically aggregates news across selected sources every few minutes (inspired by Techmeme, one of my favorite websites), and has optional daily / weekly email digests and social posting.

Security Update: We are responding to a security incident affecting part of our infrastructure.
At this time, we have identified no immediate threat to MetaMask wallets.
As a precaution, we are proactively exiting affected validators within our non-custodial staking operations, in coordination with clients, partners and security advisors.
We’ll share further updates as appropriate. metamask.io/news/user-update…

Ethernews (@ethernewscc) now attests each day's news archive onchain using @eas_eth on @base.
And I made a "Verify" widget to help show what is going on. The code is in Open Aggregator on Github.
Had fun building this, let me know what you think!
For example: ethernews.org/day/2026-09-03
- "Verify" tells your browser to check the page against the chain.
- Or check it yourself. Details: ethernews.org/verify
More on how it works:
- At 00:00 UTC each day's json file and its hash go into an EAS attestation on Base.
- Verification runs in the browser and reads the record back from EAS.
- Used @austingriffith's ethskills to help the EAS / onchain setup.

Added a public feed of primary sources to @EtherealnewsHQ.
Still early, need to add EIPs/ERCs and more blogs. It's based on the internal feed I've been using for part of my news gathering.
@jwmeyer's @ethernewscc sources page inspired including a public sources page for Ethereal news feed.

ACDC #186: Glamsterdam testnet set for October 6, EIP-8037 state gas fix approved
Core developers approved a state gas calculation fix and locked Sepolia's upgrade date, resolving a network-halting consensus bug that Lodestar had caught in testing.

Pretty cool to see storage come way down on archive nodes to the levels of full node hardware.
Nice updates in this release candidate @Nethermind 💪
Nethermind 2.0.0-rc brings flat-state archive mode, cuts full-history storage to 2.1 TB
Archive node operators can now store the complete Ethereum history in significantly less disk space while syncing faster, reducing barriers to running full nodes.

Nethermind 2.0.0 Release Candidate is live and ready for testing.
This is the full package for node operators: snap sync, an archive node sized for real hardware, fast processing at the chain tip, and RPC built for heavy traffic.
RPC is 27% quicker, with no change in accuracy. If your infra leans on RPC, this release is for you.
More goodies in the release notes:

RSS feed is live in forkcast, thanks to @jwmeyer 🫡
check out his ethernews.org/ for more signal, less noise 🙉
Forkcast has been added as an Ethernews source!
Until recently Forkcast had no RSS feed, and so I couldn't include it. But it's such a great primary source for what's happening on protocol updates, so I PR'd a feed to be added.
Thanks for the guidance and fast merge @wolovim!

I was unhappy with the current state of Ethereum crawlers, so I vibe coded and open sourced a new one.

Ethernews now has a podcasts section!
- episodes can play on the site or pop into a mini window or tab
- uses YouTube API
- show note chapters (if they exist) get tied to news stories
- 18 podcast sources included so far (links below)
- included in daily / weekly digest emails

Ethernews now has an MCP server, so you can ask your AI assistant what's new in Ethereum.
add ethernews.org/api/mcp as a connector and it can pull top stories, newest items, daily / weekly reviews, or search.
thanks @matteoikari for the suggestion!
Replying to @matteoikari
ok it exists as an MCP now:

I've always enjoyed a good aggregator because it helps create a healthy media intake with less algo. Back in the day I was a happy Google Reader user and still miss it.
Open Aggregator helps anyone make a Techmeme-style front page for whatever they want.
Check it out at ethernews.org
Caveat:
- Ingesting / posting to Farcaster works, but X is too pricey for now.
Asks:
- Send in any sources or stories that need adding.
- Try signing up for daily and/or weekly digests.
- Let me know what you think!
