We've built the worlds most accessible brain-computer interface. A device built for clean signal, a personal model that learns your brain, and an AI platform to build with it. This is Kyma. Preorders for our founding batch are now open.

It's impressive that so many individual government employees resisted political pressure to act improperly, even at the expense of their careers. That depth of principle is the sign of a true democracy.

I don’t think fusion power will be at all revolutionary. Limitless free energy is a ridiculous over promise

Shouldn’t the sunrise movement be pro Iran war? Destruction of fossil infrastructure, blockades acting like a carbon tax…
Current Iran War spending would pay for 8 million acres of forest restoration.

In a better world, we would have a Norway-style petroleum tax that takes 80%+ of windfall profits without reducing ongoing investment incentives.
This is absolutely insane: Prior to the Iran war, US oil companies were generating ~$62 billion in annual free cash flow with oil prices at $55/barrel. Now, with oil prices at $100/barrel, US oil companies are expected to generate $163 billion in annual free cash flow, if current prices are sustained. In other words, US oil giants are set to rake in an additional +$100 BILLION in free cash flow per year if oil prices remain elevated. We are arguably witnessing the most profitable market conditions in history for US big oil.

Elizabeth Warren turned out to be one of the most profound disappointments imaginable as a Senator. Presented as a technocrat interested in what works, actually the absolute worst of the slopulists.
Warren says the housing bill does *not* have a drafting error, as Schatz said today Rare Dem leadership split “The policy is to block private equity from taking over the single family home, and that is quite deliberate. There are some folks in private equity who don't like that, but it's a very deliberate choice that is supported on a bipartisan basis by 90 senators.”

1. It’s not plausible that either party will ever get 60 Senate seats again 2. Given partisan polarization, there will never be enough aisle-crossers to get 60 votes on anything with a partisan valence 3. So, if you support the filibuster, you’re saying Congress should never do anything. It should basically just rubber stamp the budget every year and otherwise cease to exist as a meaningful part of our government.
If you're willing to accept the "filibuster" excuse for Republicans not passing the SAVE act, or any other significant piece of actual conservative legislation, then what you're saying is that you're okay with Republicans in congress never passing any conservative legislation ever again. Republicans aren't getting a filibuster proof majority. There is no conceivable scenario where that is ever going to happen. It's a laughable idea, frankly. So either we barrel through and advance our agenda by force, filibuster be damned, or it will never happen. Those are your choices.

Today, I'm thrilled to share that @Garden_Intel is being acquired by SIM IP for $150m — creating the world's leading IP monetization and licensing platform. SIM IP started off as our customer, and as we spent more time with them among hundreds of other users, we realized that to truly change the market we operate in, we had to vertically integrate to build a one-of-one software enabled business. To say this journey has been surreal would be an understatement. I started Garden from my Stanford dorm room as a senior with a laptop and a thesis: reasoning models and better search could help average people understand patents. Little did I know the impact it would have in unlocking the trillions of dollars of untapped value sitting in patent portfolios around the world. I was a 22-year-old first-time founder who had never raised a dollar, never hired anyone full time, and if we’re being honest, had no idea what I was doing at some points. So many people took a bet on me when they had every reason not to. I will never forget that. To my team — you are the reason we're here. You believed in a weird idea about AI and patents before it was obvious. You worked nights, weekends, and through moments when the outcome was far from certain. We faced rejection over and over before our use case became obvious. This is your win. To our investors — thank you for backing a kid with a 5 page memo and a dream. Your conviction gave us the runway to build something real. We made a lot of pivots before we got to something tangible, so your raw conviction in our team is something I will never take for granted. To our customers — thank you for taking a bet on us and helping usher in the everyday use of reasoning models in patent litigation and prosecution. To our competitors - thank you for forcing us to be better everyday. As part of SIM IP, Garden becomes the technology engine behind a pure-play licensing and royalty company that is scaling nine-figures in revenue. We're not just analyzing patents anymore — we're building the infrastructure that will define how innovation is valued and monetized for decades to come. The mission hasn't changed. We're still obsessed with the same problem: less than 2% of patents ever generate revenue for their inventors. That's a market failure. And now, we have the scale, capital, and team to fix it. I'm eternally grateful for how far we've come — and even more excited for what's next.

After this week, I would like to see X put country tags on X accounts so we know which country someone is tweeting from. Too many foreigners on X pretending to be Americans for the sake of creating discord and political violence in the US. It’s totally out of control. @elonmusk

As a Texas YIMBY, this is what I have the most respect for about the CA YIMBYs. They are Sisyphus and the housing crisis is the stone. The amount of grit and determination they have is insane. I’m so stoked for them and for California.
What's impressive about California YIMBYs is that they don't get everything they want every year, but they keep coming back and adding more each session. California still has far too much red tape and NIMBYism but they're whittling away at it year by year, bit by bit.

Congress passed a law requiring that TikTok be shut down if it wasn't sold, the Supreme Court upheld that law, and Trump is simply refusing to enforce it, and no one cares.
President Trump was just asked about the White House joining TikTok and whether he still has security concerns about it: "I'm really not, I think it's highly overrated."

Childcare is expensive because it is labor-intensive. In a modern economy, personalized human attention—the loving care parents want for their kids—is scarce. It is a prime example of Baumol's cost disease, in which prices for labor-intensive services rise even when worker productivity doesn't. This dynamic won't change anytime soon and we will never see prices for childcare plummet like they can in scalable industries. 2/

Very interesting chart but also very tricky to come up with an explanation that fully fits the data — seems like something you could go down a real rabbit hole on
For the first time ever, it is considerably cheaper to buy a new house than to buy an existing house. Likely signals an inflection point in the housing market.

One of my favorite things that we've worked on. Big props to our engineering team esp. @kavinayan_s and Tanay for bringing this to the finish line!
We’ve been in the lab, quite literally. Super excited to announce a technical breakthrough we had around searching across small molecules and the IP landscape for drugs. Introducing Garden BLOOM. A new algorithmic approach to search through 30 million small molecules across 1.4 billion patent x small molecule combinations. BLOOM fundamentally turns a Tanimoto index on its head by creating a graph-based search that looks for chemical scaffolds. In a couple of minutes, you get a conclusive FTO across the entire small molecule IP landscape based on a Markush you upload. No more guessing on if a small molecule is in the literature or not. We built this with both large pharma and frontier drug discovery model companies in mind. In the world of AI-generated small molecules, we need commercial guardrails to create a reward function around patentability and commercial viability in mind. With the speed of small molecule advancements with AI, it is vital that the patentability advances just as fast. This is the first step towards it. Super proud of @kavinayan_s on our team for spending months on coming up with this approach. High quality research is paramount to the products we build, and algorithmic breakthroughs like BLOOM help us support our customers that are on the frontier. Onwards!
