That is indeed the Treasury view. They want to shut down family businesses and end self-employment. Everyone must be a PAYE wage slave reporting into the centralised bureaucracy. It's why we don't just need a political change. We need a system change.
Consultations like this, although cleared by Ministers, normally result from civil service initiatives. Which means that in the Treasury there are permanent officials who want to shut down the entire family business sector of the economy. (1/2) telegraph.co.uk/politics/202…

DMSO has thankfully not yet undergone the “horse paste y’all” treatment. Get it while you still can.
1/ That vitamin C + DMSO skin cancer study trending right now? It's real. I read the full paper. But the viral posts may be missing the most important part. This isn't just about DMSO's remarkable properties. It's about a 40-year mistake in how medicine tested vitamin C against cancer. 🧵👇

The spells were already spent back in 2024, but there are still little fringe pockets on X hoping they can conjure another magic cancelation. Maybe if they chant "racist" or "fascist" a little louder than last time, the good old days of 2020 will return? world.hey.com/dhh/the-spells…

Apple is banning feature switches. Lmfao. Every large app with a big dev team has hundreds if not thousands of these configuration switches to manage rollouts and testing. Which probably should be reviewed. But previously Apple let people simply ship “bug fixes and improvements” and didn’t bother reviewing anything. Completely ignoring how modern companies would roll features out to 10% of users as tests before rolling out to everyone. But now, oops that WIP feature you have turned off? Or only for a small user set for testing? Illegal. You are banned. Apple is so so far behind current dev standards it’s wild.
Apple can now delete your whole developer account for a feature hidden in your binary. On Friday it became a separate rule, 2.5.19. Apple already rejected one of my apps for this. I'd left three testing switches in the release build: screenshots-mode, slow-entitlement, UnlockedMockPurchases. Nobody could reach them from the App Store, but Apple wrote that they "appear to have been intentionally hidden". Now I run strings on every archive before I upload.

If the "extreme right" is leading in all the polls, it's probably not as extreme as the left would like it out to be.

Some amazing concepts in here. PRs are slowing me down the most these days.
I think this is the future, no PRs, no code review, but also not yolo to main. The world has changed dramatically over the last year and I think what Thorsten lays out here is likely even more rigorous in reality than any strict PR/code review process from the dark ages (aka 2025)

Surround yourself with people who see a flying car and say, "Awesome!" Not people who see a flying car and say, "It's not actually flying" or "I don't see the point." This post is not about cars :)

A Ukrainian military officer is on trial in Germany for the terrorist attack on the Nord-stream pipeline. This attack had the gravest environmental, energy and economic consequences. His defence is that he was only obeying orders from his government. Your intelligence services and their media lied to you that Russia itself committed this crime. Who will be held accountable for this?

BBC licence fee to be extended to YouTube, Netflix & Amazon. This is completely unacceptable. Those of us who have decided not to watch terrestrial TV should not be forced to pay for and prop up an outdated system. Let the BBC sink or swim on its own. independent.co.uk/news/uk/po…

And so the slaughter continues … Time for Zelensky to go
UKRAINE: Zelensky explained that he has no intention of ending the war until Russia is defeated. His greatest fear is ending the war and facing a presidential election. If he lost, he would certainly be investigated and most likely prosecuted - 80% of his predecessors have been prosecuted - for example, Leonid Kuchma was prosecuted for murder, Viktor Yushchenko was investigated for bribery, Viktor Yanukovych was convicted of treason and sentenced to 13 years in prison, and Petro Poroshenko was prosecuted for treason as well.

🇬🇧 This is proper British (oh hush you progressives) A 76 year old man is before the courts with a test of equality before the law! … pay attention. Timothy Miller was arrested for wearing a burka at an anti-migration protest. So he’s turned up to court wearing it AGAIN! Because Section 157 of the Crime and Policing Act 2026 provides a defence for face coverings worn for religious observance… It doesn’t say ONLY women. It doesn’t say ONLY Muslims. And the Equality Act protects religion or belief, while Article 9 protects the freedom to CHANGE religion. And clever Mr Miller says he’s “exploring Islam” So now the court is screwed (not a legal technical term) and must decide whether his actions qualify as ‘religious observance’ Because the law must be applied EQUALLY, regardless of sex, religion or political opinions. He’s challenging whether equality before the law really means equality for EVERYONE. (I think I love him) And I think that’s bloody brilliant!.. now we have to see if the law is going to show its cards! … Will it discriminate against this white man? exploring his religion? … of course it will. And then you will know … that this brave man took one for the team. Come on Team Britain 💣
