Q2 is in, and it was a monster quarter.
→ $116B in merchant sales, up 32% YoY
→ $3.6B revenue, up 34% YoY
→ $654M free cash flow, 18% margin
Five quarters running, GMV has grown more than 30%.
The bigger story is underneath the numbers: every shift AI is creating happens to play to @Shopify's strengths.
recently upgraded @CheckoutBlocks extensions to polaris web components which led to some great performance wins! here’s how we did it ⬇️
Checkout Blocks app extensions render on one-third of customized checkouts. That means every performance win matters: less code to load, less latency for buyers, and a faster checkout path.
We upgraded five extensions to Polaris web components and cut load times significantly: bundle sizes dropped between 40% to 85%.

Wrote about our hack days project: a better home for musicians' music on @Shopify .
It's such an important time to give artists tools to share their art and own their communities, grateful for a culture that makes space to chase that.

Every confusing city website and dead-end government portal makes New Yorkers trust their leaders less and less. It's time for City government to enter the 21st century.
We’re investing in five @NYCOfficeofTech PIT crews dedicated to modernizing New York City’s web tools and creating new, easy-to-use online resources.
If you’re a software engineer, designer, or technologist who wants to help make City government work better and faster, apply to join our PIT crews at nyc.gov/pitcrew.
so much opportunity here.. can’t wait to see what’s cooked up
Catalog API turns millions of Shopify storefronts into a structured, real-time, agent-readable product graph 🔥
Describe buyer intent with text or image, refine with advanced filters — price, fulfillment, attributes, product options, and more — and get real-time results with cross-shop clustering, normalization, and enhanced metadata. Internet-scale product discovery as an API.

Everyone is better than Jalen Brunson
Until the game is on the line and you are required to be better than him
And then you realize there is no one better than Jalen Brunson
He is inevitable
(I could cry watching these highlights)
Why is search so bad across all of @Apple products? Search basically just doesn't work in messages, mail, finder, all of it. I can never find anything and I don't get it.

great article. be in the code. quality and more importantly, taste, requires it.
I'm usually not one to write thought pieces without much technical depth. But here we go.
Slow the fuck down.

Latest shopify cli version now emits esbuild metafiles when building UI extensions.
You can just drag 'n drop these from the extension's dist/ folder straight into esbuild.github.io/analyze/ to learn which dependencies impact bundle size most.

this is a big one, switch over your shopify app deploy commands in CI y’all
In Shopify CLI 3.89 we made a small but significant addition to the `shopify app deploy` and `release` commands.
When using them in automation, we now recommend the `--allow-updates` flag instead of `--force` to prevent accidental data deletion.
