Today we’re launching @dydema (YC F26). We’re building personal, programmable brain-computer interfaces: you pick a thought and bind it to anything, like a key, a game or an agent. No surgery required.

I've spent the last 13 years working on Human Computer Interfaces, and what's happening right now is one of the most exciting moments. Huge congrats, @juliver and the team at @dydema. Excited to be in the same batch! 🙌

Dydema is building non-invasive programmable brain-computer interfaces, and it's one of the coolest things I've seen. What's especially interesting is that they're able to control an entire computer to do advanced things like play games and answer emails simply by using computer use to suggest the most likely actions the user will want to take, and accepting or rejecting them with their thoughts. Wild possibilities, and super inspirational @juliver @ChrisOost!

I love these guys, their tech is amazing! I’ve learned a lot from Julian and Chris on how to approach my own experimental research (they’re both extremely talented!!) check out their launch :)

We treat BCI as an ML problem, which mostly means data. We’ve cleaned ~14.6 years of EEG and we’re starting to record out in the world. So far our models keep getting better with more labelled data

After a few minutes of setup, our models work on someone they’ve never seen before. And on our benchmarks they beat models trained on that person’s own data
