sky-watching might be my spark

i need this printed in my brain. the level of stress that comes with remodeling a house surpasses my current threshold of dealing with adverse situations.
You are better equipped to deal with stress when you are moving. When you feel tense or frustrated or worried, it is difficult to think your way into feeling better. The more you think about the situation, the larger it becomes in your mind. Trying to think your way out of it often leads to a spiral of overthinking and rumination. The first step is not to think something different, but to do something different. It doesn’t matter what. Stretch on the floor, go for a walk, work on a project. Get out of your mind and move your body.

just found out this guy is releasing an app with a similar (if not equal) concept to the one i'm building. internet is so crazy. capture.it coming soon.
what if there was a pokédex in real life? point your phone at any animal. catch it, collect it, share it. i built it over a weekend. meet Gotcha 🧵

the other day i was testing some new features of the "nature-watching" app and i was able to capture a woodpecker, and i thought i was gonna get a rare card, and i was very disappointed with the result :'(. i'm happy that it worked tho.

what i like the most about building this is that i get to go outside to test it.
i have a new obsession. powered by @GooglePixel_US 10 pro camera zoom, @claudeai vision and @GoogleDeepMind imagen. starting to log my sightings at juanisskywatching.com/nature

i did a benchmark test to see what other models i can use to generate the illustration for my nature-watching app, and the results are pretty impressive (all except imagen-standard... that was disappointing) i used a photo of a cardinal to test (results in thread)

i felt like this for some time and then i found my sweet spot. i think it comes down to pushing the boundaries of what you can do now and couldn't before.
Spoke with many friends recently, designers and engineers, all people who've been doing it for 20 years or more and had a lot of success doing it. And they all say the same thing. The AI stuff is genuinely useful right now. It's fast and things that used to take a week take an afternoon. Things you never even attempted because there was no time, now you can just do them. It's the biggest enabler ever. But in the same breath, every single one also says that it's the least fun they've ever had in their entire career. They also mention it makes no sense to do it the old way. They're all in. It's a strange paradox which I feel myself. Everything is possible now and I've never cared less about any of it. Both things true at once. Not sure if thats just the feeling of the current moment, or if I just talked to people who're tired of the computer (since all of them been doing it for a long time).

claude design is insane! my "juan is nature-watching" hobby app will be on another level thanks to it.
