Sources: Maryland coach Mike Locksley has been dismissed. Maryland dropped to 2-5 on Saturday after a last-second loss to Rutgers. Locksley is 39-54 overall at Maryland, including his interim stint in 2015. Maryland is on a bye this week.

No superstar coach wants this job. It will be another first-time head coach or a coach with a below average resume. All of the best players will leave when Lox leaves, Virginia Tech will flip most of the DMV Maryland commits, and Maryland will be starting from zero. Again.

I used hate when high school football players from the DMV turned down Maryland and went to out-of-state schools. Now I don’t blame them. Those guys deserve to go to strong competitive programs with an identity, structure, and stability. I love the #Terps but that ain’t us.
