I wrote up how validator incentives change as Alpenglow replaces TowerBFT + TVC.. 1. In TowerBFT, the next leader waits up to 2 PoH slots for a late block, then builds without it. If the late block lands anyway, the next leader is forked off..

3. Leaders now get paid to include votes. Each landed vote’s inflation reward is split 50/50 with the leader that includes it. Before, leaders could sabotage other validators by excluding votes. But this has important consequences because the # of leader windows is variable..
