Another article from my PhD work just got published! :) Looking at post-operative neurological impairments in a very interesting patient population.
Congrats Dr. Joanna Semrau (@jssemrau), former PhD student in @QueensU_CNS. Using @KinarmLab to quantify neurological function pre- and post-#TAVI/TAVR @ScottLIMBlab @GBisleri doi.org/10.1016/j.cccb.2022.…

If you’re worried or unsure about the new #mRNA based #COVID19 vaccines, that’s understandable. Biology and #publichealth are complex and hard to wrap our heads around. Here’s an analogy that helps grasp how our cells and the vaccine work. 1/ #MedEd #vaccine

The peer review process for this paper was a wonderful reminder to believe in the quality of your work!
Scientific peer review is so random. Manuscript recently rejected b/c it was "a meager addition to the literature" needing review by a native english speaker was just described as "beautiful" -accepted with minor revisions to a journal with much higher impact factor.

Interesting graphs showing how misinformation can spread so quickly. (also a topic I wrote for my comps, and relevant during the search for a COVID-19 vaccine) sciencemag.org/news/2020/05/…
I think I have the coolest supervisor 🤘
Definitely missing my ⁦@KingstonODNT⁩ band mates. #leatherjacket doesn’t quite sound the same without you. Yes, I know, my tempo fluctuates. Don’t @ me 😉

Great job, Ontario. This is exactly what cancellation of elective surgery and physical distancing was supposed to do. The longer you keep me from staffing the ICU, the better off we'll all be.
Critical Care #Ontario Apr 18📈 556 vented pts (196 confirmed #COVID19) [1319 baseline + 1500 expanded] = 2819 total ICU beds w/ ventilation = 80.3% vent capacity REMAINING!👍 Pls continue to #StayHome & #FlattenTheCurve! #SocialDistancing #CCSO #COVID19Ontario #onhealth
