Destroy All Monsters Melee: name of the new game I picked up this afternoon or description of tonight’s election results?
Both, it turns out!
The Street Fighter movie is far from (insert sound effect here) “perfect,” but I had fun with its zany campiness.
Me when Nintendo unexpectedly uses Halloween to dress up the next day as Pikmin Day.
Also me when Miyamoto then revealed the biggest Pikmin Bloom feature in years. #NintendoDirect
Catching up with #VisionQuest and I know the discourse is already past the Captcha scene. But man, the Captcha scene is perfect.
In just the past few days, Apple’s brought back…
The glowing logo on the MacBook.
The in-person keynote.
The iTunes blue accent color in Apple Music.
The iPod — well, as an error page (music.apple.com/404).
They’re playing their millennial nostalgia cards well.
Two interesting trends in today’s #IndieWorld: a shadow drop pivot from full games to lots of demos, and a real embrace of Switch 2’s GameShare.
One trend that remains all too familiar: the game I’m most interested in was buried in the sizzle reel. What in the SSX is HYPERyuki?!
iPhone Duo impressions as an Apple / gadget nerd: The hinge is so sturdy! The nanotexture screen is nice! The clasp shut is so satisfying!
Impressions as a leftie with small hands: Uhhhhhhhh
Pokemon Night Out. Because you can take me back out of Japan, but you can’t take Japan back out of me. instagram.com/p/De6HokUG-2X/
Mid-flight movie review: Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die is bonkers. Like an unpredictable, if not a bit heavy-handed, Black Mirror mashup.
Including one very specific moment that makes me grateful for my flight’s privacy screen.
The final level of our Japan trip. #NintendoMuseum instagram.com/p/De10CGVk8hj/
The calm of Kyoto — and a big ol’ Mario head. instagram.com/p/DewmvUrk0si/
That’s two Pokemon manhole covers down out of 482 across Japan!
…don’t think I’ll be catching ‘em all on this trip, but how neat that these even exist. #PokeLids
Arrived in Kyoto and biked on a whim from the old Nintendo playing card HQ to their current HQ.
A ride down the timeline, if you will.
And the “Jason Experiences DisneySea For The First Time” awards go to…
Best ride: Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure - Amazing blend of physical, digital, and 3D!
Best popcorn: truffle salt
Biggest surprise: character interactions - No rope, no line, they even approach *you*.
Hop in, we’re going to Tokyo Disney! instagram.com/p/DepCld4E8kW/
