@cspanwj I just did a search and DDG AI repeated Wydra's claim that an upcoming case is about the "rights of immigrant farmworkers." The case is about H2a guest workers. H2a visas are not immigrant visas.

AI scrapes data and hence the notion that anyone who wants to be is an immigrant, regardless of our immigration laws, is one is what the legacy media promotes.

@MimiGeerges Per the SAVE Act, please show a cspanwj clip of David Becker talking about how Real ID required the kind of identification that would show citizenship. Even if Real ID’s themselves don’t show citizenship, the databases behind Real ID can be used for that purpose.

#steelers Interfering in the end zone can be a good strategy to use up the clock. I think that's a problem. At the very least, the offensive team should have the option to try again with the same amount of time on the clock from the original line of scrimmage.

@MarkSKrikorian Hey “Chief Nativist:” book “Nativist Nation.” Though it touts a somewhat benign definition of the moniker, it includes things that might suggest otherwise. Here’s the opening chapter. api.pageplace.de/preview/DT0…

It's hard to have legitimate debates when words that represent reasonable positions are in common use as pejoratives. But it is a debate ours and other countries need to have.

@JimRobbDC "They reached agreements to increase legal immigration, secure the border, allow DACA recipients to become citizens, and create a path to legal status for undocumented immigrants who had been here lawfully for many years." How is Braver Angels different?

I suspect it's just more of the same, repackaged with what it claims is kumbaya credibility. The test of civility in a process is weighing viewpoints where there is real disagreement. BA claims hundreds of points of agreement, but they're not even on their website.

Balances on loans, including student loans, increase when the full amortized payments are not paid.

You’ll want to read Chap 7 of Misbehaving, “Bargains & Rip-Offs.” Thaler details the difference between “transaction utility” & “acquisition utility.” The former is what you describe - spending a lot of time looking for a bargain. The latter is what matters - consumer surplus.

Though it's understandably sad about what was lost, but it would be a mistake to keep that from clearly deciding what is the best option looking forward.

@whignewtons @DavidAFrench Could you do an Advisory Opinions segment on whether this phrase in the law that created public broadcasting has any legal significance? If not, why not? If it does, is there a legal path to making it real?

This description of the Fairness Doctrine by the CRS is in line with the phrase. The restrictions on the number of available broadcast outlets was at the heart of that rule. There’s but one tax-receiving, government charter-created CPB.

Your appearance on Washington Journal seemed to me to be a rather un-reflective defense of journalists in the face of record low approval rating, and there’s a symmetry between those things. While much criticism has ulterior motivations, there’s plenty that is legitimate.

“Federally recognized tribes are sovereign legal entities, similar to state governments. They have all the rights and attributes of a sovereign entity such as a state. They have a constitutionally guaranteed status as sovereign entities. They are not subject to tax based on this”

If this continues, I'd predict Biden will end his candidacy before the convention.

For many people, having a home to live in requires doing things that are involuntary, in that choosing not to do those things would result in not having a home. Grants Pass

In what world would enough Democrats vote for an immigration enforcement bill? The only chance for such legislation was the link between it and Ukraine funding, something you promised, then abandoned. Removing employment eligibility provisions; 38 years since IRCA promise.

Immigration is great and should be celebrated every day! Except when it dismembers your society by pushing young people out of the housing market and away from marriage & parenthood. Then you shouldn't mention it at all. Oh gosh no.
When Justin Trudeau took office, a Canadian household earning the median income could cover the costs of owning an average home by spending 39% of their pay, according to RBC. Now that figure is 64% econ.st/3xh7Zly 👇

@whignewtons David Greene; “The U.S. Supreme Court is still embroiled in a debate whether mifepristone should be pulled from the market.” Not only did you not correct Greene, you repeated that misinformation: “banning a drug that’s been on the market for 20 years."

Of course people might think removal was at issue, as long as that’s what they hear in the media, despite the 5th Circuit having nixed that option. Removing it made no sense to me. xitter.cf/jskdn/status/164452842…

Whatever shortcomings there might have been in the original approval, there is vastly more data on it's use now than exists for any new drug approval. Absent something in the last two decades of use indicates something that would suggest it shouldn't have been approved...

@MarkSKrikorian Washington Journal scheduled Brandon Judd today but he had other commitments. They promised to reschedule. That seems like an opportunity to weigh in on that segment by writing an article on the lines of “what Brandon Judd gets wrong about the Senate border bill.”

I've researched the Washington Journal guests on immigration who aren't politicians or 'journalists'. It's weighed heavily to those against limited and legal, with the last two being Austin Kocher and Doris Meissner.

@JessicaV_CIS @lora_ries @MarkSKrikorian @Drewbueno @NumbersUSA As followers of the @iaproject I assume your interest in accountability. To that end, is it reasonable to ask candidates to enter into a conversation to produce a clear campaign document that does that? (1

As an advocate of open debate, anti-restrictionists should be invited to participate. I’d like to see a list of questions given to candidates to start the process of back and forth so that voters could hopefully have something tangible to rely upon in the end. (3

Only knowledgeable people can understand and extract the detail, usually obscured by campaign rhetoric, that is key to understanding what to expect from policy prescriptions. Candidates themselves often don’t understand that. (2
