Leading the new November issue of the American Journal of Sociology is my article on the influence of a small group of Iraqi exiles in making regime change in Iraq the official foreign policy of the US. The Iraqi case yields insights into this particularly fraught historical moment in which the destructiveness of war and the lobbying for US foreign policy interventions have reemerged as among the most pressing issues of our times.
