The only one inciting violence against American Jews is Piker and his rhetoric. For the future of our party, Democrats have to call out his hate and condemn these dangerous views. Anyone campaigning with him is part of the problem. jewishinsider.com/2026/08/ha…

Had a conversation with a DSA supporter. Apparently, he didn’t know that democratic socialism and social democracy are two different things - and that social democracy (“like in Norway”) is actually capitalism. The hardcore ideologues likely know that democratic socialism has never really been implemented on a lasting, large scale, while many of their supporters have no idea what they’re voting for. Tragicomedy.

Maureen Galindo, a Democrat running for Congress in TX-35, says in an Instagram post that she would turn an ICE detention center near San Antonio “into a prison for American Zionists”, and will also use it as a castration processing center for pedophiles, “which will probably be most of the Zionists”. Yes, it’s real, and yes the post is still up. She has a runoff election next week. In other posts on her Instagram, Galindo claims that her runoff opponent, Johnny Garcia, was part of a human trafficking conspiracy orchestrated by “billionaire Zionist Jews.”

We're not talking about affordability. We actually did something about it. Find the cheapest gas, food, and beer in the Bay Area: southbaysavings.com/en (This website was built by two brilliant high school students using AI. In early testing, it drove tons of traffic to the merchants. A good use of AI.) @RoKhanna your turn.

The graffiti threatened the eradication of Jews on SJSU campus on March 11 and 12, along with the phrases "make Osama proud," "avoid SJSU 4 Muslims" and "Kill all Jews". abc7news.com/post/san-jose-s…

🚨 NEW @ManhattanInst POLL ON TODAY'S DEMOCRATS 🫏: There is a central question confronting the modern Democratic Party. Is the median Democratic voter actually moving left—or is the party being pulled left by a smaller activist faction that dominates elite discourse and low-turnout politics? To explore this question—and more—we surveyed 2,593 respondents who are either registered Democrats and/or voted for Kamala Harris in 2024. The survey also includes oversamples of Hispanic and black voters who meet that criteria. Our findings point to a coalition that is often more moderate, more internally divided, and more pragmatic than what is found across left-leaning social media, cable news, and donor-funded groups. More voters favor moving the party toward the ideological center than further left. I break down our findings below. 🧵 manhattan.institute/article/…

So it turns out that the sitting local Democratic congressman in Silicon Valley, @RoKhanna, is the most un-entrepreneurial, creative or innovative person possible. He is: 1) In favor of California’s Property Seizure tax that he calls a “Billionaire” Tax. It’s already led to half of California’s Billionaire wealth to flee the state which will leave the middle class to pay for the lost revenues. 2) Despite this, he then teamed up with Bernie Sanders to propose an additional national 5% wealth tax to spend on God knows what. 3) Despite all the virtue signaling on inequality, he is also one of the most prolific traders in Congress where just last year he traded $55.7m of stock. With everything he learns in Congress to help him, he beat the market by 13%. Ro’s ambition is what matters most to him and he will flop from dumb idea to dumb idea if he thinks it will serve his broader political ambitions. Currently that means being a quasi socialist to win favor with the extreme left of his Party. He doesn’t deserve to represent Silicon Valley and I hope he loses badly in his re-election.

Software engineering changed more in the last 3 months than the preceeding 30 years. Everything about running a software company needs to be rethought from first principles.

Ro Khanna and Bernie Sanders are meeting up at Stanford preparing for Ro’s socialist presidential run. He is going to trade in California tech prosperity to get that endorsement. For him it isn’t about helping the people. It is about his money and power. Ro, you should resign.

Some friends of mine who are very upset at Ro Khanna are organizing. When 96% of your campaign funds come out of district, it's obvious that your loyalties start to lie outside of your district too. But that's why representative democracy exists. Vote. docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F…
Congressman Ro Khanna is demanding a federal unrealized gains tax and mass seizure of post-tax assets at the FEDERAL level. The wealth taxes in Europe made people poorer, and that's why so few remain! They've jumped to destroying prosperity not just in CA, but all of America.

If you are the founder of a highly valued illiquid startup, set some time aside and read this entire article. The act is designed to bankrupt you and to personally punish any appraiser or accountant who disagrees.

There is nothing patriotic about dismantling American tech industry with a mass post-tax asset seizure and an unrealized gains tax that will destroy startups and set American innovation back by decades
KHANNA: “You're saying to me … with a 1% tax on wealth that people are going to leave? Come on, have some more patriotism.” RYAN: “Scott Bessent said yesterday there's ~$600 BILLION in fraud … Don't you think we might want to get a handle on that before we tax everybody more?”

We? You lost us in California and Silicon Valley thousands of tech jobs by promoting an anti-tech wealth tax. Start with your own backyard.
We have lost 68,000 manufacturing jobs since Trump took office. We have lost 161,000 blue collar jobs. We need new economic leadership that doesn't concentrate wealth & power in the hands of the few. An economy that works for all Americans. We need a new economic patriotism.

Josh is reporting Newsom's pollster, David Binder, finds California voters would likely reject wealth tax after hearing arguments from both sides:
NEW: California voters are likely to hate the controversial proposed “Billionaires Tax,” according to a poll exclusively obtained by The Post. “It’s terribly drafted, unworkable, illegal and would have hugely negative consequences,” a source tells me. nypost.com/2026/01/12/us-new…

My mom always told my sisters and me, “don’t cut off your nose to spite your face.”  And as I think about the ramifications of the so-called Billionaire Tax, I can’t help but hear her voice. We need a rising economic tide to lift all boats, not a political plan that will sink California's innovation economy. (1/5)

This is why we have to organize, get in the weeds on policy, data, and win elections SF and California have to be the beacons of prosperity, and we can’t just cede them to bad policy and self-serving bureaucrats
I think the network effects and climate advantages of SF are so strong that simply “moving Silicon Valley” isn’t realistic. It can erode if mismanaged long enough, but markets tend to correct eventually. We will simply elect better politicians. In extremis, even a major earthquake could force long-overdue rebuilding and better governance. Some of our team’s largest investments are in Austin. It’s growing fast and doing real work, particularly in hardware. But Austin feels like a pressure valve for CA’s failures, not a place that has surpassed its underlying advantages. LA still remains the strongest ecosystem, and even South SF could easily re-emerge as a world-class industrial zone. Builders want space, power, talent, and common-sense regulation; we made Liberty ships in Marin, and Tesla was founded here. The fact this has not continued is a poltical decision not geographic destiny. Cynically, if SF can’t figure out how to turn itself around, no city can. The same political and social dynamics are present everywhere; SF is just the earliest and most concentrated expression of them. As arguably the most innovative and productive region in human history, it has the best chance of resolving these tensions as technology accelerates. That synthesis — how a rapidly advancing society governs itself without tearing itself apart — is the political problem of our time. And if it’s going to be solved anywhere, it will be solved here. Long CA, Long SF. For now.
