In which a Gold Star husband challenges Vice President Vance:
Vance is confronted by the emotional husband of a soldier killed in Iran War and acts like he had no idea anyone ever died:
Q: It's a hard price to pay. There's a failure in the leadership. How will the leadership be held accountable?
Vance: If there were failures... This is the first time I've heard of this.

We now have a good definition of the singularity:
"When AI systems speed up the pace of overall scientific and technical progress in a way that is hard for humans to comprehend."
According to Jack Clark, it's already here. I would find it hard to disagree.
ANTHROPIC CO-FOUNDER TELLS THE IMF THE SINGULARITY HAS ALREADY BEGUN
"I believe that this year, we've gained convincing evidence that it has now begun"
"a point where our models must be discarded and a new reality rules"
"the singularity is here"
at least this time Clark shares his definition of what "singularity" means, and even by this definition I'm not sure we are there yet. AI is clearly speeding up progress dramatically in some areas, but it is still uneven, with plenty of bottlenecks preventing broad, self-sustaining acceleration
even the recent math progress still looks more like a massive speed-up of technical work than completely new theories or brilliant conceptual breakthroughs. so if you ask me, the singularity is not here yet, but the current pace may already be enough to create massive social and technological turbulence

Goodness gracious. Our wedding was in 2010. In Rhinebeck, New York. No taxpayer funds courtesy of President Obama or anyone. I’m sure 2014 in every season was beautiful in the Rose Garden!
Chelsea Clinton was allowed to use the White House's Rose Garden for her wedding in 2014, courtesy of former President Barack Obama.
The event ended up costing the taxpayer $1.7 million, which the Clintons were supposed to track and pay.
According to last year's DOGE report, they never did, and now a federal judge has made it obligatory.
Clinton will pay the original amount plus 12 years of compounded interest at market rates.
And the left said DOGE didn't find any fraud.
What's your response to this......??👀
MAKE THIS GO VIRAL ON X. LET’S GO 👏
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Chelsea Clinton's 2010 wedding was held at a private New York estate, not the White House Rose Garden, and involved no documented taxpayer costs or repayment orders from DOGE or any court. The claims match debunked satirical hoaxes.

We’re committing a portion of Anthropic’s shares to the Anthropic Public Benefit Fund, a new wholly owned entity dedicated entirely to the public benefit.
It will start off with 5% of our shares. For every 50% increase in the company’s value over a set baseline, we can contribute up to an extra 2%, subject to our board’s discretion.
In total, this means that roughly 20% of Anthropic’s shares are committed to the public good. Our co-founders have already pledged to donate 80% of their equity, and around half our employees are donating a portion of their equity as part of a donation matching program we’ve run since our founding.
In the post below, we share more details about our new fund.

You should have deleted it on your own because you WERE LYING ABOUT WHAT WAS SAID. CBS making you delete it doesn't make it better. You are not credible and neither is CBS while you're still employed there.

OMFG! This response from @AbdulElSayed to a completely bigoted question is probably the best thing I’ve heard all year.
Every bigot in America needs to listen to this three times.

A space war could break out within five years, experts have warned, with civilian companies already pivoting to defence in preparation.
British-based Astroscale, which was founded to remove space debris from Earth’s orbit, is now involved in classified military programmes which could repurpose its technology to monitor or deter threatening enemy spacecraft ⤵️

The White House confirmed that press secretary Katie Zacharia is transitioning out of her role after less than a week on the job.
Speaking to reporters Friday, President Donald Trump said he gave her the option to leave, saying, “Maybe it’s not for her.”
Zacharia held her first and only briefing on Tuesday, where she took questions from just three outlets.
She also faced scrutiny over her alleged legal credentials. Zacharia defended calling herself a lawyer, even though she’s never passed the bar exam.

as a female founder of the time period, i can attest to investors encouraging me to go out and "hit the road" and do media as much as possible and much more and much faster than i wanted.
i did it for the company.
one "journalist" said "we built you up, so we can take you down!"
like with liz, it ended up doing a lot of damage. journalists tried to do the same thing in a sense.
for her, they said "the device can run any test." seems obvious to me that it means any test that you *have*. there were, what, 12 approved and 200 in development? in the movie they tried to pin her on that.
for lightsail this guy wessoff was like "you're saying you're selling tanks, and at the time you said This 2014, you hadn't sold any!"
excuse me bro. selling is a verb. we were engaging in the act of selling. and by the way we did sell tanks, at substantial gross profit, just ancouple years later. so what's the problem? how does the justify the implication that selling was deceitful. it was literally true and had follow up intent delivered on. the guy projected a problem and then said "a fish rots from the head down" about my company, slapped my picture on it, hid nonsense "allegations" behind a paywall, and then sold out to an oil and gas media conglomerate. "we built you up so we can tear you down" type shit
(spoilers) far be it from me to disagree with john carreyrou about elizabeth holmes but i disagree with his read of two scenes (seriously, spoilers)
---
i think liz is telling the truth in the who's on first scene. she really truly does not get it. a funny kind of double empathy problem; liz does not possess the theory of mind necessary to understand the joke, and carreyrou does not possess the theory of mind necessary to understand how liz can possibly not possess the theory of mind necessary to understand the joke
people who are both intelligent and neurodivergent can end up as adults with really weird deficits that they compensate for with intelligence, in a way that more normal people can't, and that feels intuitively wrong because you're like "how did you manage to found theranos and still have this crazy deficit" but that's backwards, it's exactly because she was the sort of person who could found theranos that she's also the sort of person who could get away with having this kind of deficit
similarly i disagree with carreyrou's read of the photography studio scene but this one is less interesting to me. i don't think it's productive to think in terms of whether liz craves the spotlight or not. what she clearly craves is a sense of mission, and she liked the spotlight when it felt aligned with her mission and doesn't like it when it isn't
