Wyatt Hardt of Sioux Valley is this week’s Riddell Player of the Week for 11-Man Football.
Hardt is much more than a talented quarterback. A three-year starter and member of Sioux Valley’s Unity Council, Wyatt is a leader who consistently puts his team before himself. His coach describes him as one of the most accountable and committed players he has coached in 14 years—always among the first to arrive, the last to leave, and focused on building a strong team culture.
On the field, Wyatt opened the season with more than 200 rushing yards, averaging over 12 yards per carry, along with two touchdowns. But his impact extends well beyond the stat sheet.
Wyatt helped create and organize Sioux Valley’s 600lb Club weight-room incentive, raising more than $1,000 in sponsorships to reward teammates for their dedication in the weight room. That initiative has helped motivate roughly one-quarter of Sioux Valley’s 9-12 football players to reach the 600lb Club.
His “We over Me” mentality, leadership, accountability, and commitment to helping his teammates improve are exactly what the Riddell Player of the Week program is designed to recognize.
Congratulations to Wyatt Hardt and the Sioux Valley Cossacks! @CossackFootball @RiddellSports @sdfbca @domehats

Leadership Lesson today:
If you are in charge, you should always be ready to explain the why. Questions should not threaten you.

Not just in athletics- but accountability in EVERY area of life…. Great words…
“We spend a lot of time focusing on the parents. Are they going to be fans of their son or parents? Are they going to hold them accountable? Have an expectation that when something goes wrong, that it’s not the coach’s fault. Their son has to work harder, do more, earn his role,” Dan Hurley
The role of a parent makes a difference in building a TEAM culture.

It’s time to pass the COVID-19 Vaccine Freedom of Conscience Act. People’s right to determine when & if to get this vaccine must be protected. Should not have to choose to give up a career or college because of it!
