How does this equal a year of fasting? In Islam, every good deed is multiplied by 10 (Qur'an 6:160). Fasting Ramadan (30 days) = 30 × 10 = 300 days Fasting 6 days of Shawwal = 6 × 10 = 60 days 300 + 60 = 360 days, which equals a full lunar year of fasting!
