10 takeaways from the 76ers season-opener: 1. Tyrese Maxey is going to lead this team in scoring, and it looks like everyone has the utmost confidence in him to just play his game 2. So much has been made about sacrifice, but in Game 1 of the season, it looked like everyone was co-existing just fine and able to find pockets of the game where they dominated 3. Anfernee Simons’ ability to be a microwave off the bench is going to be paramount for a team that will benefit greatly from his movement shooting and second-side on-ball creation 4. KCP continues to prove that he’s still capable of championship-level shots and timely plays on both ends 5. LeBron will continue to be a triple-double threat night in and night out with his ability to be a hub offensively, run in transition, man the backline defensively, and rebound the basketball 6. Embiid’s newfound mobility stood out with his ability to have multiple possessions where he would slide his feet on the perimeter, and he really mucked things up with his activity in the steals and blocks department 7. My favorite Jaylen Brown play tonight was when he picked up Brunson in clutch time — something that he’s the most capable of and something that will be a major part of his new role on this team 8. The 76ers’ clutch offense was made up of the Maxey/Embiid P&R and it was highly productive with Embiid making right read after right read from the middle of the floor 9. The back-up center situation will have to be addressed at some point, and the Sixers need to find a way rebound the basketball a lot better 10. For a new-look team to be able to go on the road and spoil the Knicks’ championship night, it says a lot about what the ceiling of the team can be
