A piano in the room is real. A recording of a piano isn’t it’s a reproduction, an echo of an event that already happened and is gone. The moment something is captured, encoded, and played back, you’re not experiencing it. You’re experiencing evidence of it.

A human playing an instrument is never exactly identical twice.
But a digital file wants to spread.
That’s what it was designed to do.
So when people act shocked that machines can read, learn, and remix digital music, it feels backwards.
