Steven Quinn was released from Brixton prison today as part of the government's early release scheme to free up space in UK jails. In total, he says he's spent 27 years of his life in the prison system and he has little hope that he will be able to stay out again this time.

I interviewed for a position with 21 Soho. I was told the second interview was to meet the CEO as a formality and the job was more or less in the bag. They then didn't reply for weeks and eventually told me they went with another candidate. Clearly I dodged a bullet.

Incredibly exploitative to sell yourself as a venue to grow emerging talent then not pay that talent. It is not rocket science to pay your acts on time and yet so few venues do. All this contributes to excluding anyone who doesn't come from money in the arts. Shameful behaviour.
