I love how almost every other nation doesn’t understand our humour, the song isn’t arrogance about thinking we are great and own football, it’s self deprecation singing about how shit we at international tournaments and clinging on to hope one day we might win a trophy again

It shows the farce that is the governance of football these days such that if Wrexham v Chelsea had taken place in the 4th round and not the 5th Wrexham would have 11 men on the pitch and the score would be 3-3. The FA are an embarrassing shambles of an organisation.

What you are seeing in the @premierleague is a rapid transition away from real entertainment (open play goals, vociferous fans, flair players) to americanised entertainment (set plays, stat obsession, light shows, pre match entertainment)

Howard Webb will tell us all that VAR is making 99% decisions correctly, but they never acknowledge how it's ruining the game, how it's ruining the spectacle for fans and how it's sucking the joy out of the game.
There's so little joy left in the game with all the money sloshing about, the extortionate wages being paid, the high ticket prices, the rising subscription fees, the horrendous kick-off times, the billionaire owners, the nation state owners, the joke that is PSR and now VAR is doing absolutely everything in its power to try and disallow every single goal by re-refereeing every tiny detail of the match.
It's crap. The Premier League is dying.
