There are estimated to be up to 60,000 Palestinians in the UK. As far as I know, they would be the only people banned from wearing their national flag at school. This is obvious racism.

Britain's official position is now that Israel is maintaining an unlawful occupation of Palestine. Weapons used to maintain that occupation are made in the UK at Elbit Systems. Activists who disrupted the production of those weapons are sitting in British prisons as terrorists.

Notice how Miliband - in addition to not once even bothering with acknowledging Palestinian humanity, loss and fears and making it instead all about Jewish loss & fears - easily used the term ‘ethnic cleansing’ for just the West Bank and delegates the responsibility not to the Israeli government but to settlers.
The Israelis occupy the West Bank, the Israeli kidnap and detain Palestinians, including children, in prisons indefinitely. They execute & sexually assault Palestinians.
Settlers aren’t an aberration, they function as part of Israeli expansionism and are protected and empowered by the state & military. They also function as a scapegoat that allows the Israelis full impunity overall.
The UK has been directly complicit in genocide in Gaza, where Palestinian parents are still picking up pieces of their slaughtered children. They cannot be allowed to wash their hands clean of it.

There is a shift here where Starmer government statements always centred October 7th, always tacitly justifying Israel’s genocide.
Still doesn’t go far enough, of course. But a noteworthy change in just finally centring Palestinian suffering.
