I stuck around after Twitter became X to stay plugged into the FGC. But, just like every other topic on this platform, it's begun to give me a warped, cynical & pessimistic view of the community. My use of this site has gradually diminished and will continue to do so. 🧵

Ludovic from THG was detained by ICE, and right now he needs us. He’s more than a teammate — he’s family. We’ve set up a support link to help with legal fees and support during this time. If you can donate, please do. If not, please share. gofundme.com/f/support-ludov… #FreeLudovic

The FGC trash talking of yesteryear doesn't seem as genuine when it's locked behind an NDA for a pre taped event. Feels like the community's getting astroturfed

Yeah, it would have hit anyway, but it's the principle of the matter

Jack's first night home. He's really loopy from all the drugs. But he's been seizure free for almost 48 hours. The road to recovery will be long and difficult for all of us, as we can't miss any medication times. But we got this! ❤️ ya boy

History recognizes actions that are bigger than self. Joe Biden will go down as one of the great ones, having led the country out of the disastrous term of his predecessor and quietly doing good things for all Americans, red state as well as blue, accomplishments that put him up there, in terms of legislative action, with LBJ and FDR. Joe, I can’t imagine where we’d be without your selfless service.

My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term. My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it’s been the best decision I’ve made. Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this.

One of my favorite parts about #Evo2024 was that the long walk from hotel room to convention center from last year was addressed. Having access to the Vegas Loop to go straight to the convention center was great. Pretty sure my walk to venue was significantly shorter this year.

I know there's drama around the arena but I think this might be the best Evo yet. There were definitely some down sides, such as a large portion of our local community being priced out. But the increase in cost allowed them to address virtually all the issues that I had last year

I'm in Vegas this weekend for Evo. Looking forward to catching up with friends! By dumb luck, this was the first year in a long time where we decided to drive instead of fly. Happy Y2K everyone

Mirror match discussion falls victim to extremes on social media. These points are very valid. However, your ideal range & spacings are also your opponent's ideal spots, so it's not as cut and dry as "gitgud." It's not 100% catharsis for playing a busted character
Ludi@LudiFGC6 Jul 2024
Hot take: You don’t hate the mirror you hate being confronted with how your character plays because you idealize your image of and justify your main mentally and/or you hate the possibility of being less equipped/familiar to handle your own character’s antics than your opponent

The "Top 5" discourse for any fighting game is hard because of shifting goal posts. Calling a character top 5 is relative to the rest of the cast, and then we proceed to discuss the character in a vacuum (good normals, good walk speed, invul dp or not)

We also use "Top 5" as shorthand hand for "Is this character good?" Then it depends on who you're talking to. Good relative to the rest of the cast? Is an A tier not viable when everyone else is S? Or are we talking about whether they're a good fighting game character at all?
