RVs are becoming the housing of last resort for a growing number of Americans.
Nearly 500,000 Americans are living full time in an RV, around double the number four years ago.
I spent time with a few of them. Here are their stories.

Incredibly proud to see that @NBCNews was recognized by the @PolkAwards for its Dealing the Dead investigation!
The reporting revealed how how unclaimed bodies were dissected and leased out for medical research without people’s consent or their families’ knowledge.
Reporters combed through thousands of pages of documents and data obtained through hard-fought FOIA requests, interviewed grieving family members from Ohio to Venezuela, and published a database in English and Spanish of hundreds of people.
The reporters discovered that many families didn’t know what happened to their loved one’s body — or that some of their missing relatives were dead — they had to inform them of what they had learned, bringing long-awaited answers.
This is public service journalism at its finest.
Congratulations to @Mike_Hixenbaugh @jonschuppe @LizKreutzNews and the late Susan Carroll for this recognition, as well as the reporters, photographers, editors, and more who made this journalism possible, especially @JulieShapiro, who oversaw this project.

This story peels back how critical using dead bodies are in science & medicine, but how few guardrails — incl. company policies — there are to prevent the use of ppl who never consented to donating their bodies after death
