@meetdexai levelled up today, we added Tom Valentine (co founder @ secret escapes & COO @ Fyxer) and @jonnyburch (founder @ progression)
Were building one of the most exciting and accomplished teams in the world.
LFG
Like, no shade to this in particular because this is everywhere, I mean everywhere. Every YC slop page. Every vibe coded project. Is anyone actually reading it before it ships? Probably not, just yeet out some more code.

Had a ton of fun chatting with @tomharman and @jonnyburch - a pretty deep dive into my thinking about building Dessn, general fun design takes, and my favorite product (spoiler: it's not software).

@GabriellaHach was on Near Future! We’re releasing a brand new experience and she sat down with @tomharman and @jonnyburch to talk about why we’re building it and where we think this whole AI design thing is going.
Plus a small detour into Gab’s life after Dessn 🍷

One thing I've learned over the last two years is to be brutally intellectually honest with myself. Am I actually enjoying this, or am I just pretending to? What an honour to have been able to go on that journey with Tom as my friend and occasional coach.
Breaking: news from Near Future towers this week. We're evolving again.
Six months ago @tomharman and I decided to have a go at making Near Future (or Hack Weeks, as it was then known) into 'our main thing'.
...straight after the Mostly Working Summit, a free whole morning event at Monzo in London. Think great firesides and round table discussion with up to 100 other designers. Check out mostlyworking.co for more.
We're also wrapping up consulting and paid workshops, with our last one on the afternoon of the 22nd October...
So we're turning Near Future into just our weekly podcast, and merging it with Tom and Simon's brilliant (and cutely named) monthly event series 'Mostly Working'.
The name is also going. No more 'Near Future', just Mostly Working across the board.
Finally, Tom and I realised that the most fun we could possibly have was to just keep hanging out, sharing ideas and building something together. It just didn't need to be our whole thing.
We (my family) also moved back to London. It's funny what becomes clear only with a new perspective, but almost immediately I had an itch to go and work in a team - not lead one - for the first time in years.
First of all, however hard we tried, the conversations we were having felt like we were selling training. There was a clear market, but it wasn't really what either of us wanted to do.
A new name, a new mission around enabling craft-focused teams to do amazing work. A new CRM (well, we built our own, obviously).
Over the course of the last few months, a lot has changed.
Anyone want an Instinct invite? I have 25 apparently

What a pleasure it was. Thanks Randy!

My archive is missing some things from these last couple of years, but I just added an interview on the Near Future podcast with @tomharman and @jonnyburch randyjhunt.com/archive
