If the call was a sort to the left, even though the centers guy was head up on the line, which we have done, that could speed the left guard redirecting to one of the blitzers, but they still would be hot from Budda. You could argue the Left Tackle should squeeze this because it’s 5 man protection, but again they would still be hot.

Bill Belichick says he learned from Bob Knight coaching Michael Jordan to coach the best players as hard as you coach the worst ones because then it gives the best ones more authority to lead “It was really important because Tom knew it, and Tom brought it to my attention. It enabled him to give more leadership to the offense. If I didn’t point him out, then everybody walks out there feeling like, ‘Well, they got yelled at except for him.’” “But when I could make points to Tom, then Tom could say, ‘Hey fellas, look, he got after me too. He got after all of us. We’ve got to get it going.’ And I learned that from Coach Knight.” “Coach Knight did that with Jordan in the Olympics. He told Jordan, ‘Jordan, I’m going to be on you. I’m going to be on you hard, especially on defense, because I know you can take it.’” “Jordan says, ‘Bring it on. I just want everybody else to play better. Bring it on.’ Because if you’re yelling at Michael Jordan, everybody else has got to come.” “So a lot of times I would tell Tom, ‘Hey Tom, it could get a little rough in there today. Just want to let you know.’ He goes, ‘Well, make sure you include me. I need to be part of it.’”

Three wins, five runner-ups and finishing the season No. 1. Those are some numbers to be proud of. Incredible consistency all season long. Congrats on a historic season, Scottie.

Tom Brady believes one trait separates great quarterbacks from everyone else... and says today's NFL is losing it. Stephen A. Smith: What made quarterbacks from your era different? Tom Brady: I never wanted to just run the play the coach called. I wanted to be the field general. My coach would send in a play, but when I got to the line of scrimmage, I'd read the defense. If I saw the play wasn't going to work, I'd change it. Today's quarterbacks see the defense take away the play, and they snap the ball anyway. "Then people blame the offensive line when there was never going to be anyone open." Tom Brady: That's what I did. That's what Peyton Manning did. That's what Drew Brees, Ben Roethlisberger, Philip Rivers, Joe Montana, Steve Young, and John Elway did. Great quarterbacks take control. Tom Brady: Stephen, nobody tells you exactly what to say on TV. You read the moment, make adjustments, and that's why people trust you." We need quarterbacks who do the same thing.

Drew Brees explains why he rejected Nick Saban, a yacht and the Miami Dolphins for a destroyed New Orleans franchise: “On paper, it was Miami all the way. Miami had Nick Saban. They had just come off a 9–7 season. Defense was lights out. They were running the same offense we were running.” “I’m sitting there eating dinner on Wayne Huizenga’s yacht. He’s talking about playing golf in Scotland every summer. No state income tax. I’m like, ‘Dude, this is wallpaper. Miami, here I come.’” “New Orelans was six months post-Katrina. They just hired some unknown head coach named Sean Payton. Who is this guy?” “I’m in Miami in an MRI tube for two hours just aching. They stick these big needles in my shoulder to test the nerve endings. I got this feeling of doubt. They don't really think I will be able to play. Their doctors said I had a 25% chance of coming back and playing again.” “I go to New Orleans and it was like, ‘You are our guy.’ Sean Payton and Mickey Loomis said, ‘We’re building this offense around you.’” “They did everything they could to roll out the red carpet despite all the circumstances. New Orleans was still destroyed.” “Houses were off their foundations. There was a Chevy truck upside down in a living room. The car stops, and there’s a tugboat in the middle of the road.” “I’m looking at my wife like, ‘Are you seeing what I’m seeing?’” “It was one of those moments where it's like this is so much bigger than just football. We get to be part of the resurrection of one of America’s greatest cities.” “This is God’s calling in our life. And that was the determining factor.”
