Replying to @DanWalesReform
reform/ukip/brexit party delivered the single biggest -ve impact on the Welsh and UK economy, ever. #brexit . All promoted through the lies disinformation and divisive populist rhetoric of your "never at home" CEO Nigel Farage. So no thanks Dan.

The way the ECHR is applied may at times irritate and as in all human affairs no court will always be perfect in its reasoning and decisions. But the ECHR has done immense good throughout Europe. Precisely because it is a " living instrument", it has been able to promote human rights. We take for granted today that illegitimate children should not suffer discrimination and that homosexual relationships should not be criminalised. But delivering these reforms is just some of the good work of the ECHR. As Churchill saw, it's drafting and promotion has been one of the great achievements of UK soft power for the common good of all. At the end of his video, Jenrick gratuitously offers an irrelevant image which is intended, I infer, to show an immigrant gloating over money he is getting. The only purpose of this is to stir up hatred against immigrants. That is why we need the ECHR. It is also why he is showing himself entirely unfit for office.

Tory leadership favorite Robert Jenrick is touring UK News Shows telling viewers “we should leave the ECHR & replace it with a British Bill of Rights” This argument is going to come up a lot in the coming months & years. I explain in this film why it’s A VERY BAD IDEA!

1/6 This tweet generated a lot of noise which I expected. I stand by it. Nor was I rude/insulting. #1 We can all be ignorant sometimes on some matters. A lot of people are clearly not aware of the broad/robust& increasing body of data that supports 20mph in urban/built up areas
A lot of ignorant, misinformed and selfish people in Wales.

1. What we are seeing all over social media now is flat denial of the very existence of the far right. Far right agitators claim to be simple “patriots”, defending their country. Which is just what far right agitators have said for the past century.🧵

This entire monstrous project, a proposal to drive a gash of concrete & tarmac through our most sacred prehistoric landscape, should never have got off the drawing board. (That cancelling it will also save £2.5 bn is obviously an additional perk...) xitter.cf/ST0NEHENGE/status/1817…
Stonehenge Tunnel Project now OFFICIALLY SCRAPPED! The decision has just been made by Chancellor @RachelReevesMP as part of her bid to fill a £22 billion 'black hole' in public finances she claims the @Conservatives have left.

Bishops in the House of Lords are "as much as an anomaly as hereditary peers" and should "join them at the exit", says Lord Warner. Quite right. No religion or its leaders should have a privileged role in the legislature. secularism.org.uk/scrap-bish…

C20 is saddened to hear that the legendary Sir Kenneth Grange has died, shortly after his 95th birthday. In a career unparalleled in its breadth and longevity, Kenneth started out as a young draughtsman at the 1951 Festival of Britain and was still restlessly designing as a nonagenarian. Over 70 years more than 10,000 products left his drawing board, creating numerous British icons and mastering 'the sculpture of the everyday object'.
Happy 95th Birthday to Sir Kenneth Grange! One of the most innovative and influential industrial designers of the modern age, Grange's work helped shape post-war Britain. From the InterCity 125 train, to London black cabs, Royal Mail postboxes, Anglepoise lamps, Kodak cameras, Kenwood appliances and many (many) more.

At the @C20Society we're not all about Brutalist car parks and PoMo houses you know. For our AGM today we're at Cardiff 's 1938 stripped-classical Temple of Peace and Health by Sir Percy Thomas in Cathays Park.

If #Labour wishes to involve faith groups in its plans for the country, it should ensure they are not privileged ahead of those which are non-religious, and that robust safeguards are put in place to prevent proselytization, evangelism and discrimination. premierchristianity.com/inte…

One day to go. This thread on the @Conservatives’ record in government got nearly a million views in 72 hours. It obviously touched a nerve. You also sent many suggestions of what I’d left out. So here’s an update, with an important correction at the end. Here we go:
Fifteen years. Five prime ministers, seven chancellors, eight foreign secretaries, twelve culture secretaries and sixteen housing ministers. A thread, for #RantyTuesday.

FYI - @WelshLabour @LouHaigh @JoStevensLabour unless funding is formulaically protected for the Wales rail network the huge historical imbalance in rail investment will continue-despite the more cooperative approach set out in the manifesto. It has to be devolved as in Scotland
