We Must Pace the Frontier: I’ve written a new essay on why the AI industry should slow down, with a three-part plan for doing so.
Anthropic is unilaterally committing to the first of these steps. We’ll provide third-party evaluators with permanent, employee-level access to our systems, so that they can verify adherence to our safety measures, report on incidents, and assess models’ alignment during training.

The gap to native is closable.
We rarely share benchmarks (they're hard!), but here's one we ran at @LynxJS_org in Jan to find our own bottlenecks.
@reactnative made cross-platform mainstream. Now it's time for all of us to chase near-native perf without giving it up.

We are upgrading to @preactjs v11
ReactLynx 0.126.0 is out, now running on Preact 11.
Background renders are ~14% faster, teardowns ~11%, and use() now ships from our compat entry.

We were promised flying cars and all we got is infinite superintelligence for everyone
A small idea from work: if AI agents are going to fix Lynx apps, they need more than a way to write code—they also need a way to verify the result.
CDP may be the next interface for observing and controlling the Lynx runtime.

We just learned that Karrot (당근), 🇰🇷 Korea's largest
second-hand marketplace with 21M+ MAU, has shipped
Lynx to production on 3 screens, with more planned.
They wrote up why they chose Lynx for its brownfield adoption and performance:
We're gradually adopting Lynx into the Karrot app. I've written a post sharing the story behind adopting Lynx—a cross-platform technology—and the results we achieved.

Vue Lynx is definitely the closest thing to Vue Native we’ve ever got! Great job @Huxpro

Excited to support Octane on Lynx 🔥
Happy to announce Octane – the successor to Inferno.
React’s programming model, compiled.
Hooks, Suspense and Actions, compiled ahead of time. No virtual DOM. No Rules of Hooks. No manually maintained dependency arrays. The compiler understands what your code captures and generates the reactivity for you.
Octane supports TSX and JSX, along with TSRX for even better DX and performance.
It includes integrations for libraries such as TanStack, React Three Fiber, Lynx and StyleX, plus a compatibility layer for using Octane components inside existing React apps.
Octane is available in alpha today, with beta coming soon.

For my first post, I’m sharing a letter @NVIDIA signed on why open models matter.
AI will transform every industry, power every company, and be built by every country.
Open models strengthen safety and cybersecurity, accelerate innovation and diffusion, and enable sovereignty.
The world needs both frontier closed models and frontier open models.
