Six people were killed and thirteen injured in Lutsk today. My condolences to everyone who has lost family members and loved ones because of this Russian aggression. A “shahed” drone attack damaged civilian infrastructure – a residential building and a store. More strikes, more terror. And this comes after a massive overnight attack on our energy infrastructure, with recovery work still underway in Kyiv, the Kyiv region, and the Kharkiv region.
And now the Russians are launching a new wave of drones. This is intentional, permanent pressure on our people. Russia is once again showing what it really wants. This is a deliberate continuation of the war, in defiance of calls from the United States and the American President. That is why Moscow must not be talked into stopping – it must be forced to stop through increased pressure, sanctions, and assistance to Ukraine that enables us to protect people from these attacks. This is exactly what we expect from all our partners – from every G7 leader and every country that stands for peace. There must be action. Because as long as Russia does not feel sufficient pressure, it will continue to sow death.

Today, the Russians launched a ballistic missile strike on Kyiv just as we were meeting with members of Congress and discussing the Lindsey Graham law and the need to strengthen sanctions. Russia will not end this war without pressure. As people were sleeping, flashes from explosions lit up the sky. Once again, the main targets of their strike were Kyiv and civilian infrastructure, residential buildings, a maternity hospital, energy infrastructure, and logistics. Two people have already been reported killed. My condolences to the family and loved ones. There are also people who have been injured. Emergency services are working – people are trapped in one of the buildings. The air raid threat persists in some regions of the country.
We discussed exactly how to protect against these threats with @RepBrianFitz, @RepMikeQuigley, @RepMarcyKaptur, @RepGolden, @RepJoeWilson, and @RepGregoryMeeks. Every such attack happens because the pressure on the aggressor has never become total, and Russia believes it can continue to bet on ballistic terror. Right now, the United States has an opportunity to respond strongly. We need ballistic missile interceptors to protect lives. Sanctions against Russia and those helping it make money must be implemented. I thank both parties for their readiness to help protect lives.
Had saved this Greenland 🇬🇱 balloon.
Happy to see an agreement respecting right of Greenlanders to self-determination and the Kingdom of Dennark’s integrity.
Good deal- art of the possible 🇬🇱🇩🇰
BREAKING NEWS: I am pleased to announce that the United States of America has entered into an Agreement with The Kingdom of Denmark, and Greenland, that gives the United States permanent control over security, and all other needs, in Greenland, completely addressing ALL of our many U.S. concerns. There will be NO COST to the United States! At my direction, we worked with representatives of Denmark and Greenland to guarantee that the United States will FOREVER have the complete ability to do what is necessary in Greenland in order to secure and defend the security of Greenland, and the United States of America. Additionally, from now on, no U.S. adversary can EVER have a base in Greenland, have a military presence in Greenland, or make sensitive investments in Greenland, without our express written approval. For over 100 years, Presidents have known the strategic importance of Greenland, but NONE of them were able to do anything about it. I am proud to be the President that permanently and conclusively addressed this very important situation. This is an “Infinite Life” Agreement, there is no end! We are very honored and proud of what has just taken place, and everything agreed to today will be cherished by the American People. We will immediately begin the process of developing a large Military presence in the appropriate part of Greenland, of which there are many. We will work with the people of Greenland in its development and construction. This solution is a great one for the United States of America, Denmark, Greenland, and all of our Allies. We look forward to working with the wonderful people of Denmark and Greenland toward a magnificent future with respect to this large, and highly strategic, parcel of land. We will be very protective of it! This is a dream come true for the United States of America, one that is very important, historic, and special. Thank you for your attention to this matter! Russian drone attacked Kyiv-Warsaw train as it approached the Polish border
Jonas Parello-Plesner retweeted
This week alone, Russia launched around 2,100 drones against Ukraine – a significant share of them jet-powered “shaheds,” which the Russians are using in an attempt to cripple the economy and destroy people’s lives. The enemy also used nearly 1,700 guided aerial bombs and 78 missiles of various types.
Last night and this morning, energy facilities, Ukrzaliznytsia, businesses, and ordinary residential buildings came under attack. Odesa was attacked with missiles and drones. Recovery efforts are ongoing in many western regions following the overnight strikes. In particular, all necessary services are working near the Polish-Ukrainian border in Volyn, where the Russians deliberately burned a train locomotive and damaged a gas station in a drone strike.
It is precisely to prevent these strikes from spreading further into Europe that Ukrainian men and women fight every day, give their lives, and do not allow the aggression to expand. Russian terrorism is a common threat to many, but it definitely can and must be defeated in Ukraine. Thank you to everyone contributing to the protection of Ukraine’s skies and supporting our people.

Russia’s escalation with jet-powered “shaheds” is gradually becoming increasingly terrorist in nature. Throughout the day, the Russians have been deliberately targeting gas stations in Kyiv. Today alone, and from these strikes alone, two people have been killed. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Nine others have been injured. Among them is a first responder who was wounded in a double-tap strike. They also struck a Kyivstar company building. And these attacks have been ongoing since last night. There were strikes in the Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Dnipro, Odesa, Donetsk, Kherson, Kharkiv, and Mykolaiv regions.
We cannot simply wait while Russia hones its repertoire of killing. Right now, maximum attention must be focused on protecting the skies, finding solutions to protect people, and scaling up countermeasures against Russian drones. I thank everyone who is helping provide Ukraine’s aircraft and air defense systems with the necessary missiles. All of this saves lives every day.

Three Hong Kong activists who organized annual vigils in remembrance of China’s 1989 Tiananmen Square crackdown were sentenced to five to seven years in prison for having done nothing but exercise their once-held freedoms that Beijing has now crushed. trib.al/V549Zk7

They face 5 to 7 years behind bars for the “heinous” acts of remembering the past and wanting a better future.
Even one day is too many. Free them all.
BREAKING: Three activists who once organised annual vigils to mark the 1989 Tiananmen crackdown crackdown have been sentenced to up to seven years and three months in prison.

Appearing before a panel of designated judges at the West Kowloon Law Courts Building on Friday, Chow Hang-tung, Lee Cheuk-yan, and Albert Ho were handed the jail terms for inciting subversion under a Beijing-imposed national security law.
Lee received a jail sentence of seven years, Chow was jailed for seven years and three months and Ho – who pleaded guilty – received a sentence of five years and two months imprisonment.
The trio formerly led the Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements of China, a now-defunct activist group that held annual vigils to remember the Tiananmen dead. The Alliance itself was handed a fine of HK$1.5 million on Friday, to be paid within three months.

Our cities and communities have been under almost constant attack since last night. In Odesa, rescue and search operations are continuing at the site of an apartment building damaged by a Russian missile. Thirty-seven people have been injured. The search for two more people who are still missing continues nonstop. All necessary emergency services are on the scene. This morning, the Russians struck a hotel in Chornomorsk, in the Odesa region, with a drone. Eleven people were injured, including six with limited mobility. In the Zaporizhzhia region, two people were killed when a “shahed” struck residential buildings. Six people were injured. There were also casualties following a strike on an enterprise in Zaporizhzhia. In Kryvyi Rih, a missile struck critical infrastructure. Three people were injured, and one person was killed. My condolences to all the families and loved ones of the victims. Two more people were injured in the Kyiv region. Ten regions came under Russian attack last night, and Russian attack drones are still flying over many of them. Once again, the Russians struck ordinary gas stations in the Zhytomyr and Rivne regions, as well as a locomotive depot in the Odesa region.
Our defenders have shot down more than 200 aerial targets since the beginning of this day alone, but unfortunately, not all of them. And when the Russians so blatantly turn ordinary people into targets of their terrorist attacks, it is frustrating that the response from the world’s strongest powers does not match the level of Russia’s escalation. A matching response that truly has a chance of stopping the killings and protecting people is always a joint one. I am grateful to everyone who is helping Ukraine with anti-ballistic defense. To everyone who is making the pressure on Russia felt. And to everyone who is helping Ukrainians, wherever they may be.

Shocking! This young Iranian woman killed for celebrating khamenei’s death.
Do you remember the night the news spread that Ali Khamenei was dead?
Many of us Iranians watched, almost instinctively, took to the streets. Some cried. Some laughed. Some celebrated. Not because we love death, but because we believed the man who had ordered the imprisonment, torture, blinding, and killing of so many innocent people was finally gone.
She celebrated inside Iran. Her name was Nehal Abuqalandari.
Sources say, she was so happy when she heard the news, she got into a car with her friends and drove through the streets of Khorramabad, full of hope, celebrating the removal of a dictator. But the security forces opened fire and a bullet struck her in the chest.
She could have been me. She could have been thousands of other Iranians who celebrated outside Iran. The only difference is geography. I was lucky enough to celebrate in freedom. But she is now gone simply because she celebrated under a warmonger regime.
Three days later, authorities pressured her family to call her a “war martyr” and blame America and Israel for her death. Her family refused. Because they knew who killed her.
Nehal was not killed by a foreign enemy. She was killed by the Islamic Republic, a regime so afraid of its own people.
This is what breaks my heart.
Her friends say she was kind, positive, and full of life. She should be alive today.
Please say her name: Nehal Abuqalandari.

Open Letter
To the President of the Russian Federation
From the President of Ukraine
When you came to power in Russia more than 26 years ago, many people in Ukraine viewed you positively. That is how it was. But that is now in the past.
Now, the overwhelming majority of Ukrainians view it positively that our long-range drones paid a visit to the opening of your forum in St. Petersburg, covering a distance of more than 1,000 kilometers. As you know very well, that distance is not the limit of our capabilities.
