13 year old me in 1999: wow this song is so awesome!
40 year old me in 2025: I started a whole choir just to do this...
If you want a Broadway musical that successfully puts Blackness in a white body, critiques everything that comes with doing that and provides social commentary on race in reconstruction era America, then go see WANTED. There's nothing else on or off Broadway that comes close.
saw this and immediately thought of @raffyregulus ... what we gonna do?? a broken clock is right twice a day, right??
This hurts my soul... damn we OLD old. I'm watching @NightSkyKing_'s latest video watching old Final Fantasy commercials and someone in his chat was like "what is Squaresoft" AHHHHHH

"I also didn't think it was bad or problematic..."
This is why I don't trust just anyone with handling issues specific to Black communities.
You didn't find the slave musical where a slave falls in love with his white master even the slightest bit problematic?
Replying to @mttztries
This had two public workshops in London, everybody got paid by the show's producers and investors.
I also didn't think it was bad or problematic, and those labels wouldn't have been so hastily attached with anyone but Todrick at the helm.
Another successful concert with over 250 people in the room! I'm so proud of the work we're doing @OtakuChoir
また無事に公演を終えました!会場には250人以上のお客様が!Otaku Choirでみんなと作っているものを、本当に誇りに思います。✨
I recently saw Todrick Hall's new musical set during the US slave era.
In the past 2 years I've started producing my own (small) shows/ concerts in NYC so I understand how difficult it is to get ANYthing on stage.
With that, here's my review of MIDNIGHT

???
Why did it go away in the first place? Could it be for something that they apparently didn't change? Something that got it in trouble the FIRST time?

Reading Nobuo Uematsu's biography has taken me back to the early 2000s. Before the internet was what it is, before streaming, before video game music was taken seriously... there were small communities of fans. I was part of it. I have friends from those days IRL now b/c of it.

seeing multiple flights from sac to sf is actually nuts like you could probably drive that in the same amount of time
we so desperately need working high speed rail in this country
Yessss~ Just got tickets for Final Fantasy Distant Worlds next year at Carnegie Hall! Very excited about this concert, especially as I am finishing up Uematsu's biography. These concerts have a whole new meaning to me, and I have been going since the FIRST Distant Worlds.
Just to be clear: Square Enix’s Dear Friends: Music from Final Fantasy concert happened in Los Angeles on May 10, 2004.
Video Games Live’s first concert was July 6, 2005.
So yes. Square did it first. – at Brooklyn, NY
Holy... Uematsu doesn't hold back when talking about how Square changed after the merger: "The only people who were left were losers, liars and decievers - cowards who were scheming to get to the top and fill the spot Sakaguchi-San left..."
