If you want to make money from your music, you're running a business. Businesses market their products. Before streaming, the product was a physical copy of your music. Now the product is you. Market you.

i don’t think any artist truly thinks the average consumer will buy music directly from the artist, we’re trying to reach the people who DO care and those people will likely build up a library of music they purchased which would be available to stream all in one place
Like if I buy yo album from bandcamp , I gotta go into my files folder and either put that folder into an app like untitled which has limited storage or play the files using YouTube or Spotify playing local files. If I have to get on YouTube or Spotify to play the music I bought , why wouldn't I just stream it from there. The DTC model doesnt address actually listening to the music in our everyday settings. It just addresses artists not getting paid lolll (capitalism) and people dont really give a fuck if the artist gets paid or not , they want an easy fluid way to listen to music.

me when i’m a huge fucking nerd
I’m learning to DJ. I gave Opus 5.5 a set I loved and asked it to break it down. It made a tool to track the DJ’s hands to see which controls he was touching, then cross-checked it against the audio spectrogram to identify fx, loops, transitions. Everyone should be using AI to constantly learn new things.

Explain why it makes sense as an artist with no fan base to focus on releasing full-length albums?
