Standing there, in a room in parliament, watching a TV, transfixed as the towers spewed smoke and flames, it crossed our minds that planes were coming here too. My colleague Jo Andrews said “this is the story we will cover for years” Quarter of a century on, she is still right.

🚨🚨Trump on Truth Social: I just had excellent conversations with the Highly Respected President Joseph Aoun, of Lebanon, and Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, of Israel. These two Leaders have agreed that in order to achieve PEACE between their Countries, they will formally begin a 10 Day CEASEFIRE at 5 P.M. EST. On Tuesday, the two Countries met for the first time in 34 years here in Washington, D.C., with our Great Secretary of State, Marco Rubio. I have directed Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Rubio, together with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Dan Razin' Caine, to work with Israel and Lebanon to achieve a Lasting PEACE. It has been my Honor to solve 9 Wars across the World, and this will be my 10th, so let's, GET IT DONE!

Looks like we are inching towards an Israel-Hezbollah ceasefire. It can’t come soon enough for the people of Lebanon.
Pro Iran Lebanese tv reporting a possible ceasefore between Hezbollah and Israel, starting tonight. Pressure from the US. Nothing official from Hezbollah.
Israel says its on 'same side of equation' as Lebanon after historic peace talks. But has anyone factored in Hezbollah? itv.com/watch/news/israel-an… via @ITVX
Talks in which the israeli government has no apparent desire for a ceasefire and the Lebanese govt is unable to deliver a truce from Hezbollah - which has rejected the talks already.
Heading into southern Lebanon where the yellow and green emblem of Hezbollah outnumbers the national flag, as thousands of miles away in Washington DC rare face to face ‘peace talks’ are scheduled to start ….

I get that this is an unpopular view but:
We need more journalists & fewer pundits.
We need more original reporting & fewer hot takes riffing off the news.
We don't have this because reporting takes work and is difficult & pontificating on YouTube is lazy & easy.

This is the incredible story for Reporting History of how @johnrayitv and his team were under fire, then held hostage in Libya. It's absolutely riveting. Please do watch. You won't regret it. youtu.be/Xq2SvOM7LXw

I recoil from most reporters’ war stories - it’s never about us. But here’s a tale of near disaster to show how far we go to get the facts - and how easily it can all go wrong. #reportinghistory with @tombradby @itvnews youtu.be/Xq2SvOM7LXw
First world problems, I know, but important none the less as anyone with kids armed with smart phones and the internet will know.

Is Dubai safe? The view from the ground itv.com/news/2026-03-14/is-d…
Very loud bang from apparent intercept over Dubai just now while civilian planes pass high over head. President of UAE has told local media; ‘ we are not an easy target’.
Reports that the US consulate in Dubai has been targeted. Social media pictures show fire and smoke rising. Follows Iranian strike on US Embassy in Saudi overnight.
Just watched an UAE warplane and air defences active over Dubai again just now. Big thump and at least two interceptors streaking into the sky. Seem to have been successful.
