Two teenage boys have been arrested after a stabbing at a shopping centre in the middle of Manchester.
The two boys both aged 14 years old have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm after they attacked another boy also 14 years old on Saturday at the Arndale .
The boy still remains in hospital and is said to be stable .
Detective Inspector Sean McFadden of GMP’s City of Manchester district said: “We’d like to thank the local community for their support during our investigation as well as the passersby who helped the victim following this incident. “Your quick thinking undoubtedly saved the victim from potentially life threatening injuries.
He then went on to say that incidents of this nature can cause concern and they would like to reassure the public there is no wider threat to the community.
Police arrested the 14 year olds on Sunday and they remain in custody ( no nationality or names released because of their age)

Monster who let podophile partner rape girls as young as 6 then gave them donuts as reward are BOTH jailed
Paula Lister, 55, from St Helens, was jailed for 14 years at Liverpool Crown Court for two counts of child cruelty after allowing her partner Melvin Miller to sexually abuse two young girls over about two and a half years.
Miller, previously jailed for 16 years, recorded the abuse. Police found more than 250,000 indecent images, the largest collection one officer had seen.
This included footage of him raping the girls, with one particularly horrific clip showing him offering one of the young girls a doughnut and chocolate as a "bonus". Miller, also from St Helens, subsequently admitted to a string of offenses after recording much of the abuse, with Lister visible in the background of one video as one of the girls performed a sex act on her boyfriend.
The second victim added in her own statement: "Paula has destroyed my trust in anyone, and she's ruined my childhood. I think Paula is a disgusting person and I hope she gets the punishment she deserves, as she's ruined my life.", as reported by the Liverpool Echo.
Nicholas Williams, prosecuting, read a statement to the court on behalf of both girls, with one having said: "As much as I work on myself, I believe I will never truly forget my trauma or fully forgive those who inflicted it upon me."
The case came to light when one girl told a friend who informed a teacher.
Judge Neil Flewitt KC called Lister’s failure an absolute betrayal.
One victim’s mother described her as evil to the core and a monster.
Lister showed no remorse.

After falling and injuring myself, I went to A&E. I was violently sexually assaulted. I was kept in put in a private sideroom, woken at night. Injected, drugged, and r*ped in Pinderfields NHS hospital, Wakefield, leaving me with lifelong injuries.
I lost my job as a special needs teacher for 13 years whilst the Rapists walk free.
Management covered up.
I've been gaslit, lied to, medical records changed, clinical timeline falsified, perverting the course of justice and victimised.
West Yorkshire Police stalled 9 months before starting a bodged investigation.
I'm failed by the system.
8 more were raped and 6 sexually assaulted, same hospital.

A woman who recorded videos of her sexually assaulting a young child has been locked up.
Lorna Hargreaves repeatedly filmed herself abusing the girl before sharing the footage with another person.
The predator also took other indecent images of the same child, as well as a further indecent photo of another girl.
These images and videos were all then shared with a man with a similar sexual interest in children.
Hargreaves' paedophilic offending all took place throughout 2025.
This would all be evidenced when we raided her home on 3 December and seized devices containing the videos and images.
Further indecent images of children were also found, along with extreme pornographic images of animals.
Evidence was also discovered that pointed to Hargreaves being responsible for various voyeurism offences too.
These all took place between 2022 and 2025, with multiple people filmed in various intimate situations without their knowledge.
The 33-year-old again shared these videos with another person online, having recorded them for her own sexual gratification.
Hargreaves was charged with four counts of sexually assaulting a child and three counts of distributing indecent images of a child.
She was also charged with taking and making indecent images of children, voyeurism and possessing extreme pornographic images.
Faced with the mounting evidence against her, Hargreaves, formerly of Sutton-in-Ashfield, admitted to each charge.
She then returned to Nottingham Crown Court on Thursday (15 October), where she was jailed for four years and eight months.
Hargreaves was made the subject of a 12 year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and will have to sign the sex offenders' register for life.
A restraining order preventing Hargreaves from contacting any of her victims was also imposed. This will remain for life.
Detective Constable Kayley Freeman, of our Internet Child Exploitation Team, said: "Lorna Hargreaves is a highly manipulative sexual predator who deserves this prison sentence.
"Her decision to repeatedly sexually assault a young child while filming the abuse was revolting and unforgivable.
"If that wasn't bad enough, she then shared this footage online with another like minded person with a sexual interest in children.

Anthony Williams33 years old of no fixed address pleaded guilty today at Cambridge Crown Court to 12 counts of wounding with intent and two attempting to wound with intent.
The charges cover the mass stabbing on the LNER Doncaster to London service on the 1st November , when the train was diverted to Huntingdon and armed police arrested him plus earlier incidents earlier including an affray at a barbershop , stealing kitchen knives from an Asda in Stevenage and possessing a bladed article .
He denies 14 counts of attempted murder 10 for the men stabbed on the train and the rest for a 14 year old boy , a 22 year old and a 28 year old at Pontoon Dock in London .
Prosecutor Christopher Paxton KC said the guilty pleas don't resolve the indictment .
Trial runs from Monday for about 6 weeks before Mr Justice Calver .

🚨 ANIMAL SEXUAL ABUSE: AARON MAYBANK, SNODLAND, KENT
A man who repeatedly visited a riding school before being caught on CCTV sexually penetrating a male pony has admitted the offence in court.
Aaron Maybank, 35, was captured on camera at Bradbourne Riding and Driving Centre in Sevenoaks on July 5, after staff installed CCTV over concerns about what was happening to the animals.
The court heard his visits stretched back months, with earlier incidents recorded on April 9, May 14 and June 15.
Prosecutor Roisin Massey told Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court that staff had installed the cameras after noticing his concerning behaviour.
When questioned by police, Maybank reportedly said he had “no idea why he did it”.
He pleaded guilty on October 13 to sexual penetration by a person with a living animal.
Magistrates ordered a pre-sentence report before deciding his punishment. He remains on bail and is due back at Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on January 7, 2027.
⚖️ Maybank has yet to be sentenced.
