Doctors at Gemelli Hospital removed a cancerous tumor from Pope Leo XIV’s right lung, according to the Holy See Press Office. The surgery was successful, with no complications. We continue to pray for @Pontifex and for the doctors and staff caring for him.

Update: Ten more bodies found by the Tuam dig, all in coffins. That makes 109 to date, all in coffins.

Perhaps not one for SSPX folk. Awkward questions about Lefebvre, Thuc and Palmarian ‘Pope Gregory the Very Great’.

From Today's Times editorial: "Ms Widdecombe was held in high regard by many who vehemently disliked her social conservatism. That was because the same devout Christianity that underpinned her ethical absolutism taught her to treat adversaries as well as allies with equal respect, good manners, dignity and often, touching personal kindness." thetimes.com/comment/the-tim…

Shamimg to see a journalist publication, Village Magazine, applaud the refusal of politicians to answer questions. Freedom and democracy depends on free speech, however much you disapprove of others’ opinions. Journalism must support open communication.

Today, as we celebrate the feast of St Joseph the Worker, and the dignity of human work, we remember the largely Irish labour force who built Westminster Cathedral. St Joseph the Worker, pray for us.

Mrs McAleese is perfectly free to join the Church of Ireland, which ordains women as priests and bishops (its sister church in England is now led by a woman Archbishop of Canterbury).A choice also open to yourself.

Statement performance from Jack Crowley today. Ran the team brilliantly, attack hummed, kicked beautifully, stood up defensively and came up with a brilliant try-saving tackle at a crucial stage of the second-half. Best out-half on the pitch.
