Today I gave $50 to the Web Archive (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waybac…) because you can request it to save any web page you need a snapshot of. And I gave $50 to Wikipedia today, too. Would you consider doing the same? Also, please hit a "like" button to spread the word!

The graph planarity Python package just peaked above half a million PyPI downloads for the month ending July 7, 2026. Reach out if you'd like to be a new contributor (got some easy ones to get your feet wet). pypistats.org/packages/plana… #python #PyPI #graph #planarity

If anybody is looking for a quick way to become an open source project contributor this weekend, I'd like to invite you to have a look at a few "good first issue" I've set up in the Edge Addition Planarity Suite. They won't last long, so come and get 'em! github.com/graph-algorithms/…

New arXiv preprint alert. Solved an open problem from the American Mathematical Monthly. Interesting new ways to cover triangles, and particularly pleased to be able to prove that they are optimal. Comments welcome, please see here: arxiv.org/abs/2605.04111

2nd Geombinatorics journal paper on covering triangles. Last one proved theorems whose prior proofs didn't. This is on how to extend the methods from existential proofs. Result: one method that covers half of all triangles better than the naive method. researchgate.net/publication…

“On the Conway and Soifer Schemas and Methods for Covering Non-Equilateral Triangles” has now appeared in the journal Geombinatorics (get full text here: researchgate.net/publication…)

Celebrate Tau Day today by reading The Tau Manifesto! You'll soon realize that Pi Day is only half as important :-) lnkd.in/dQKxAEsG
I'm happy to see that the new release of the Edge Addition Planarity Suite is making its way into Debian Linux (and related, e.g. Ubuntu and openSUSE): lnkd.in/dCdfWmKq
Here's a good paper by Ahmad Biniaz with an elegant proof that the complete graph on 9 vertices cannot be divided into two planar graphs: #graph lnkd.in/gu3ixZGK
Happy Twos Day! It’s 2/2/22 today. That’s two to the two twos!
In the next issue of the Journal of Graph Algorithms and Applications, "Revising the Fellows-Kaschube $K_{3,3}$ Search" illustrates why a case analysis in a mathematical proof must also prove that there are no other cases. The procedure of Fellows-Kaschub…lnkd.in/dnU_kj7n

I am contributing to the total of #IBM #patents again in 2021 thanks to two grants on an invention I really like on Cognitive Question Answering Pipeline Calibrating (US10902330B2) and Blending (US10936956B2). A great overview appears in this CASCON paper: dl.acm.org/doi/10.5555/31727…
