We believe the Bible is the divinely inspired and revealed Word of God and our God is worthy of our worship. So we gather together as a university community to worship Him.

I just preached in NC. A young girl accepted Christ and when the Church applauded she took a bow! 😂 How appropriate. All heaven was observing and angels rejoicing. Praying for more to take a bow this Christmas season. @LifeAction
”Hear the word of the Lord, you who tremble at his word….“ Isa 66:5
My pastor, Jay Smith, said today, “You will never tremble if it’s all about you.” If I fear the Lord, I don’t have to fear anything else. If I don’t fear the Lord, I will fear almost everything.

We are joined by @nathanlino tomorrow evening at 6 pm.
The focus for our three days together is spiritual awakening and revival.
“We must be ready to allow ourselves to be interrupted by God.” Bonhoeffer
If God wanted you to repent, to change, or even to leave all you do to follow Him, would you be interruptible? @LifeAction
“The Church must be seen as the company of pilgrims on the way to the end of the world and the ends of the earth.” Leslie Newbingen

Enough about ungodly leadership. What does GODLY leadership look like? Well I see it every day with our team at Life Action. I see humility, repentance, forgiveness, & compassion lived out. Godly leadership is all that, & always leads toward the King and His kingdom, not self.
If people send ur staff members sympathy cards when they find out they work for you… you might be a narcissistic leader. 😂 Seriously, narcissism is the fastest way to destroy ur spiritual integrity, far beyond where u work. We either humble ourselves or God will do it for us.
During a season of my life, I was a narcissistic leader. A 360 eval, & the grace & discipline of God helped me. Let me hold up a mirror in case u need to see your own leadership challenges. In the days ahead I’ll let the words of the great theologian Jeff Foxworthy help us. 😊
Iraneus, the last person we know who knew the Apostles: Those things reckoned by men low, and invisible, & contemptible, are precisely what God ranks as deserving of great glory.” Live low! Pursue humility. Forgive freely. Forsake ambition. Let others be loud. Just love Jesus.
Be wary of those on social media who point to others as the “villain.” Insecure leaders MUST deflect negative attention to others & away from their own failed leadership. Healthy leaders use a mirror to see where change is needed and keep their focus on the mission of Jesus.
I defend pastors. But pastors CAN be unworthy of defense. I have been. This has helped me:
- Do a 360 eval & don’t make excuses. They are likely right
- Have someone hold u accountable to change
- Ask God to help u NOT be the only one who is unaware that u are a narcissist!
Just because we follow Jesus doesn’t mean that we’re immune to misusing our power. - @chuckdegroat
Pray for our pastors and missionaries. These are the special forces of God and many are under great attack. Others have given into arrogance and narcissism and have become part of the problem. They too are under attack. All of them need our prayers.
