I’m from Ukraine. I watched the place where I grew up in Donbas turn into a battlefield. I lost my home. I lost the life I once knew. I lost pieces of who I used to be. But I haven’t lost hope. And I still dream of going home one day🇺🇦 #ukraine #ukrainians #ukrainiangirl #war #ukrainerussiawar

Kyiv. Holy fucking shit. The explosions are so fucking loud. One hit so close, I could hear someone’s windows shattering. Judging by the sound, at least three appeared to be cluster warheads. russia is a fucking terrorist state.
Kyiv. Fucking hell. More explosions rock the city as russia unleashes its third wave of ballistic missiles.

Even with Musk hobbling Starlink for Ukraine’s frontline defenders, Russia just had its worst 7-day period of the entire war, with a combination of Ukraine's advances in some areas and Russia's meat-wave attacks in others, the US rescue couldn't come at a better time for the Kremlin.

ELON MUSK SAYS SPACEX CAN BRING POWER ONLINE 12 TO 18 MONTHS FASTER THAN ANYONE ELSE And he has a plan to add 20 gigawatts next year On the earnings call, Musk said SpaceX $SPCX is turning on about 220,000 Nvidia $NVDA GB300 chips every month, and that pace will speed up next year. He expects to reach close to 3 gigawatts of compute in the next few months. He says he's highly confident SpaceX adds another 10 gigawatts next year, for about 13 total. The bigger plan would add 20 gigawatts, and he says the odds of getting there are "rising rapidly." He kept the details of that plan private, calling it "highly proprietary" because if he spelled it out, others would try to do the same thing. One advantage he did share comes from rocket engines. Turbine blades and vanes are one of the biggest bottlenecks in the industry, running 12 to 18 months behind the rest of the turbine. SpaceX is now casting its own, using what Musk calls the most advanced casting capability on Earth. "That means that we can bring power online 12 to 18 months faster than anyone else."

Elon Musk on Optimus: "We've started early production. The growth of Optimus is an S curve, but the initial curve is a shallow slope. We have the vast majority of the 1 million unit/year line installed at Fremont. There's still some things we need to tweak about the design. There's still quite a lot of work to do with the AI in the robot. I would expect that the AI, the electromechanical design, reliability, usage life, expect these issues to be solved by the end of next year. I remain convinced Optimus will be the biggest product on Earth. I do want to temper expectations that we still have a lot to get through, it will take about a year to get through that."

🔥 UPDATE: Zelensky says Ukraine could accept a peace deal freezing the war along the current front line. A ceasefire is the minimum he expects from Russia. Kyiv has put a concrete compromise on the table, and Moscow must stop shooting. He also says US early-warning intelligence on Russian ballistic attacks is working again after talks with Marco Rubio. Starlink and Starshield remain restricted, though Rubio and his team are working to resolve those limits. Washington has pressed Kyiv to halt strikes on Russian refineries while delaying tougher sanctions on Moscow.
Put October in order and the mechanism is easy to see. Moscow makes an offer, then Washington pressures Kyiv to make it workable. The offer • Oct 9: per WSJ, Putin proposes to Trump a November summit with Xi to end the war on terms that favor Moscow • Oct 9, same day: a US-Russia deal on diesel The pressure on Kyiv • Oct 10: Trump urges Ukrainians to replace Zelensky and demands an end to strikes on Russian refineries • Oct 11: Trump announces an "energy truce" on his own • Oct 12: US threatens to limit military aid and intelligence sharing if the strikes go on • Oct 13-15: Ukraine hits gaps in US intelligence and limits on Starlink and Starshield • Oct 16: an order letting Washington delay new sanctions on Russia Refineries are the target that currently hurts Moscow's finances most. Stop those strikes, delay the sanctions, and Putin's plants stop burning while his revenue stays intact. He then walks into a November summit with Xi at the table, holding every card. Kyiv is asked to disarm its best lever before talks even begin. On Oct 18 Trump said he won't tighten sanctions so as not to scare Moscow off, and in the same breath blamed Zelensky for not wanting peace. Only one side in this conflict is being punished for refusing to stop.

Bison are leading one of the most remarkable ecological comebacks in North American history. For more than a century, the great herds of the American bison were fragmented, broken into isolated groups by roads, fences, and human development across the Great Plains and Yellowstone region. Now, in a powerful wildlife success story, those artificial barriers are being overcome. On their own, bison are instinctively reuniting and reopening ancient migration corridors that had been lost for over 100 years. This isn’t just movement: it’s a profound return to ancestral memory. Large, unified herds are once again flowing across the landscape as they did in centuries past. As they travel, these iconic animals act as masterful ecosystem engineers. Their powerful hooves aerate compacted soil, their selective grazing encourages the growth of diverse native plants, and their dust wallows create seasonal watering holes that benefit countless other species. In doing so, they spread nutrients and help restore the health of the grasslands. By simply allowing bison to roam freely across their historic ranges, nature is showing us that wild ecosystems recover best when their original architects are given the freedom to lead. Nine years of travel, nearly 3 billion miles, and one breathtaking encounter. 🚀❄️ In 2015, NASA’s New Horizons revealed Pluto’s towering mountains of water ice, some rising over 3 kilometers high. Who would have imagined such a dramatic landscape at the edge of our planetary neighborhood? 🌌
After traveling 9 years and covering 3 billion miles, NASA's New Horizons spacecraft got this shot. Behold! The icy mountains of Pluto.

“The Ukrainians are not going to fold. They're not going to surrender. You can cut off their Patriots, you can cut off their intelligence. But people don't like to live on their knees. Ukrainians are not going to give up their territory because doing so would condemn all the people in that territory to torture, rape and murder. So it's not going to happen.” “So what President Trump has actually done is he's undermined his own objective, to get to a quick resolution of the war, which I think he really wants, by pursuing a strategy which is to lower pressure on Putin and to raise pressure on Ukraine, which is going to achieve the opposite result.” “So, it's not going to work, because you can't choose a country's fate without including that country and its people. 44 million people who have a right to dignity and sovereignty and a say over how they live. And none of those people want to live under the cruel rule of Vladimir Putin, no matter what President Trump thinks about it.” “And then you add the fact that Trump is actively aiding Putin, by promoting a narrative of the war that is false, exactly matches Russian propaganda, and places Zelensky in a terrible position where he's got to either decide to live in Trump's reality, which is a bunch of lies about how the war started and how how it's going, or to defend his people and do his job as the president of the country.” “You add all those things together, it's a perfect storm of toxicity whereby the president is putting America on the side of the aggressor and the war criminals and against the side of the victims of this conflict. And it's bizarre. And there's no way to to look at that and to say that's anything that America has ever stood for in the past. Yet, here we are.” “And the result is very predictable and predicted. He's going to get a lot of Ukrainians killed without actually solving the problem. And that's a tragedy.”

Thank you, President @ZelenskyyUa.    The service members at CFB Wainwright were training to defend the values of freedom, democracy, and sovereignty. Values our nations share.   On behalf of Canadians, I am grateful for your thoughtful words and recognition of their service.
Every loss of life is a tragedy. Canada has done so much to help us protect lives in Ukraine, and we extend our heartfelt condolences to Prime Minister @MarkJCarney and all Canadians following the explosion and fire at the military base in Wainwright. Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of those lost, and we wish a swift recovery to the injured.

Elon Musk today on a potential merger between SpaceX and Tesla: "Both Tesla and SpaceX have formed special committees at the request of shareholders. Because I'm a conflicted party I can't be in on these discussions. I don't think we should assume that a merger is a certainty. Do I think it would be a good idea? Yes. But at the end of the day, shareholders have to be supportive of this. The special committees have not reached an agreement on any transaction, and it doesn't mean they will, but there is a lot of be gained from cooperating on SI, chip design, robots, mass or orbit, connectivity. I think it would be a good idea."

We are launching the Tesla Robotaxi safety report today. Till date, Robotaxi has driven a total of 3.3 million miles autonomously, and has had zero injuries nor airbag deployments. If the same number of miles were to be manually driven, we should expect roughly 9 injuries to the occupants or other pedestrians and 4 airbag deployments on average. We will continue to transparently share our progress with the public using this page. tesla.com/robotaxi/safety
